Well, whether the story is true or not the fact remains SE's CS is downright lousy. All comes down to whether your indignation at this treatment is stronger than your addiction to log back in and continue giving them your money.

it's obvious he's in the wrong here. he was clearly asked what he did do, and ignored it.

He just came to bitch about being called an RMT, when all he was doing was teleporting/MPKing/botting, or something of that nature.

After Jei got banned, I'm no longer inclined to believe that SE necessarily waits for hard evidence before acting on an account. Granted I only know him by internet, but I think of Jei as very clean of character and would have a hard time believing he was falsifying that image and actually doing something shady with his accounts.

I find it weird that they assigned a 72 hour ban in this case for RMT connections instead of just banning outright. I mean, if he was really RMT it's not like he'd get scared straight and stop being an RMT after the suspension period right?

Jei used the Windower though right? While the majority of PC users agree there is a need for this and that the use of it is accepted by almost everyone, SE in their usual half-arsed way chose to view it otherwise.

Yeah, but I don't think I've ever heard of anyone explicitly being banned or suspended for using a widower. The couple times I heard rumors of it, it actually ended up being that they were using speed hacks or something of that nature. I did have a friend that was suspended for two-boxing on the same computer, but thats as close of a violation I can think of.

Clearly you didn't read the beginning of my post, or the 2nd post I made where I revealed one of my most profitable ways of making gil.

As far as position hacking, in the 110+ days of playtime I've racked up, keeping my homepoint in whitegate makes getting anywhere EXTREMELY easy. Put the outpost warps (while I don't have North Gustaberg, I did manage to get Sarutabarta. (Spelling?)) The farthest place to go is Fort Ghelsba thru Yughott Grotto. ...but I think I've been there maybe 3 times.

MPKing. ...I'll be honest. I've heard about this alot, and that it has something to do with brd and lullaby. ...and while I have been tempted to do it fishbotters in the dunes, qufim, batallia etc... I don't have any idea how it's done.

Botting. Let's see, from what I know people use botters for, if I'm a botter, my fishing skill of 2 means I'm doing very well with that. I have summoning magic skill at probably level 7 with a level 10 summoner. All other magic skills have been capped in low level besiegeds that are easy wins. With the exception of Enhancing, which is SO far behind because I'll blow thru 20 full bars of mp and get half a point or so.

When asked blatently rudely "What DID you do?" I responded with how I make gil. ...fine you want to call me a liar, I could care less. But at the end of my first post, I requested (rather pleasently I thought) that if you just wanted to jump in here and degrade me, tell me I'm full of sh!t whatever to please not.

So there you go. Whether you want to believe what I say or not, that's fine. But I soon as (if) the suspension ends, I will contact a GM. Hopefully I won't get a copy and pasted response of "RMT Activities" with no explanation. If I get a decent explanation I will bring it back here and cross-reference what I do, to what they call RMT activies, so you all can avoid it in the future.

Perhaps the SE customer service rep was referring to the activity of buying gil, rather than the activity of being a "hunter". In their thinking, a 72 hour ban might be enough to intimidate past gil buyers into not buying gil in the future.

Your only recourse is to call SE and present your case. If the person you are talking to doesn't give you satisfaction then demand to talk to their supervisor. At the very least they owe you a definitive explanation as to why you received a ban. You may not get it expunged from your record but if you find out its related to your "habits" in game then you can rectify them.

I have always had good experiences with SEs CS, but then again, I never call them, or chat with them, like most people do when they come here and bitch.

90% of the time when someone comes here and bitches about SEs CS, they sound like asses them selfs in the chat or on the phone.

I think it's entirely plausible for them to ban or flag someone and they actually never did jack shit wrong. It's happened in every MMO under the sun and the investigators on XI are only human. I try *not* to assume the worst about everyone the minute they post. I am also not psychic nor telepathic, and don't pass judgment. If I were, my ass would be down buying a lotto ticket right now and not here.

Honestly, I can see them flagging him just for what he's done alone, because I think they're getting a bit over-zealous. Early in LotRO's Goldseller ban-a-thon there was a decent sized chunk of completely legitimate accounts banned because their flagging and parameters were over-zealous. They were reinstated and apologized to, but that's really not a good way to start your anti-RMT measures. Thankfully nothing like that has happened again, but I could see it happening to FFXI as they continue trying to crack down, a few people who have similar ideas to what some of the RMT may do could get caught in the net.

Playing the AH/Bazaars would be an easy way to make gil, and if I came back, since most of what I once farmed is worth trash, would probably be my main option along with tele-taxi. The problem is, some of the RMT have likely realized that as well and have moved to it, which has added it to their parameters, which could nab someone who bazaars excessively or something. Perhaps.

Or perhaps I try too hard to not think I know what everyone's doing at any given moment. Again, because if I could, I'm in the wrong place right now. Lotto Jackpot {Yes, please.}
