help - returning player, verion difficulty

I want to return to the game...but im having abit of a problem.
the account i used to play on,which is still active is a EU version account, and the only disks i can get hold of is a US version.ive been told by square that it wont work.
Is there any way to do this? mabye deleting the character and getting a new ID and takinging part in the return to vanadiel scheme?

any help would be appreciated.thanks

pfff, install the game with any version you want, but just remember when it comes to getting new expansions, you will need to buy both EU and US versions, because you will have to install the US version, and use the CD key from the EU version

or just uninstall the whole game, and go download the EU version off of some where (cant say, you will have to search)
