Has anyone else had this problem?

Last month yes there was a hiccup I had recived a new credit card with a new number so I had to reactivate my account and my mothers account The card is one of those pay as you go type cards so We knew there was plenty of cash on the card to pay our subscription.

So I reactivate and the money withdrew from the card as expected to pay for both account (14.95 each as there's three IDs to each account.) Played as usual all last month. Made sure last week that the card had plenty of cash to pay the subscription for both accounts and still leave $13 in there..

Today Mom's account was double charged and My account was suspended WTF!?

So I call Square/Enix and some woman, after being on hold for two hours, tells me neither account was paid last month so they are charging for last month and this month today.. So $29.90 was removed to pay for mom's accoutn and I will have to pay another $29.90 to reactivate my account.

This means I will have paid for September twice..

My credit card company has confirmed that Square/Enix was paid $14.95 twice last month so why the F are they trying to charge me again? Square/Enix refuses to acknowledge that they were paid last month and I'm not interested in allowing them to double dip I'm not paying 50 dollars a month for two accounts. FFXI is a good game it's not THAT good.

    Anyone else have this issue?

Happened to me as well. I am being charged for a month I wasn't allowed to play anyways. If its pay to play. An I don't pay, An I'm not aloud to play. Why was I being charged for that month? I was invovled with 2 other MMO's when this happened. An there not charging me for a month.

      Re: Square/Enix Subscription Double Dipping

I learned today SE has an odd way about charging past dues. They only issue charges within the first two days of every month. Any time after that, you're really assuming they charged.

Last month I did a World Transfer. I had changed banks and set up my subscription payments on a temporary bank card. I paid my September subscription, but I tranferred a few days into September and the system didn't process the payment until October 1st-2nd.

Today my account was suspended because I didn't pay the $25 yet for the world transfer, which I thought I had (but apparently need to balance my check book more accurately). I set up my account to play again for this month but October's subscription fees (yes, as of Oct. 2nd) will now be paired up with my fee for November 1st fees.

So it may look like I'm getting dinged twice, but I'm paying for October late.

Like I said, its seems odd, particularly in these days where you can charge a lot of things instantly, but SE's system's just run on a different payment schedule.

I know it seems like you shouldn't have to pay a full month of fees just because you signed up late in one month, but that's just the way it is. If they didn't charge a flat rate for any period of time, it would just be hell on the billing process.

It's kinda like the honor system. You play all you want. They charge you at the end. Nice cycle.

But if you do something that hiccups the system once, it's your ass on a platter.

Yes this would appear to be the case if it wasn't for the fact that after calling my Credit card Company they confirmed that there was two completed transactions on exactly 9-02-07 for $14.95 each the credit card company has confirmed that last month's charges were paid.

At least Square/Enix recieved the money complete with comfirmation and routing numbers. What they did with it is the question because it sure didn't get applied to my account.

Far as I understood it from this issue before in the past. ReActivating your counts costs the same as a monthly fee.

So if you are going to deactivate an account you'll want to be sure that you won't activate it again for at least 2 months. Otherwise yes you got a double charge on yourself, one for reactivating and one for the unpaid month.

As I understand it too, to avoid that it's best to reactivate around the first 2 days of the month. From what you are saying there though I guess that isn't how it worked. So would be same fee to reactivate as a month would cost.

S.E told me to activate my account I have to pay the fee on the month I canceled. An then the start up fee for the month I sign back on for. The day I canceled was a few days short of them billing me again for the new month.
