  • Help with Fees for an Australian

Hi guys, i'm not sure if this has been covered in previous posts, and i'm sorry if i'm repeating it again.

I recently bought the European FFXI "Starter Pack", which comes with the three expansions ToAU, CoP and RoTZ but no registration keys. Purchasing these keys requires me to make payments in Euro Dollars (if what is displayed on the screen is correct).

My question is: is there any way to switch payment to USD instead? The Aussie Dollar is stronger against the USD, and I don't want to end up paying more than I should - not only for the keys, but for when I start getting charged for my ContentIDs as well.

On a separate note, this game is fantastic! 35WAR/MNK ftw!

when you create your account dont you pick the country.. and then it says it will charge you, in your countrys main currency. im sure they have translators so they dont overcharge you. if your account is in USD and not australian im sure you can change it somehow, have a look on POL, on your account settings.

Unfortunately, I think you're stuck paying either Euros or Pounds Sterling. I've been playing since '05, and at that time it was USD only. Fast forward till sometime 2006 and they changed to Euros+Pounds as well. They sent me a message about the change, and I'm fairly sure it's one way. I'm still paying USD per my original agreement, but if I change (or if you're new I guess) there's no going back. So us European edition folks don't have the advantage of paying in USD anymore, they took it away last year.

I'm fairly sure you can still choose between the pound/euro, and I'm fairly sure the euro is gaining on australian dollars, while the pound is slightly depressing. So perhaps choose pounds if they give you the option? Either way, they removed USD as an option. Why they can't accept AUD is beyond me though.

BAH.. That's too bad then... I've tried and tried, but there seems to be no option whatsoever of paying in any other currency except Euros... Those Square Enix fellas know they've got a good thing going, and probably know that I don't mind paying the extra 6 AUD for this lovely game, haha..

Thanks for the complete reply, Nazl, appreciate it!
