Well, I'd probably stop before that became a danger, but still. It's not like the OP is going to be able to go to her parents and say "Hey, the folks at this Final Fantasy XI forum said to do this. Here is the documentation."

edit: I can't get on AIM right now Feba. It's not an option where I'm at.

The OP's family isn't going to see this conversation, most likely. And if they did, they aren't going to care. Our advice isn't going to have any effect whatsoever on this fellow's life.

Not for nothing but I lived at home until I was 22. Given I was in college, was working, didn't have FFXI around (I was playing MTG though.. for free no less).

This dude does need to start getting his life together though. I'd take a screenshot of the opening warning screen where is says "WE DON'T WANT YOUR REAL LIFE TO SUFFER AS A CONSEQUENCE" and save it as his wallpaper.

This is simple enough: Parents charge freeloading son rent every month.

If he (a 21 year old) truly just sits around all day playing ffxi and not contributing to the house hold what-so-ever, he's freeloading. Pockey to the theories of being afraid of daylight. Maybe he does have some condition. Whatever. Businesses hire disabled persons.

Point is, parents are enabling. Setting rules or limits for your children living in your household is completely fair.
