Why would a Wookiee -- an eight foot tall Wookiee -- want to live on Endor with a bunch of two foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense!

But more importantly, you have to ask yourself: what does that have to do with this case? (calmly) Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense!

Look at me, I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca. Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense. None of this makes sense.

And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberating and conjugating the Emancipation Proclamation... does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense.

If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests.
I loathe South Park, and I still found that funny.

Oh, and, by the way, I still use FFXIclopedia. It has all the data I need, in a format I understand, so I really couldn't care less about where the almighty dollar went.

The transition to Wikia gave the site's search engine a nifty new feature, but one I'm already familiar with, as I had already been using another Wikia wiki for a while now.

Honestly, I just don't see what the big deal is.

Yeah, for some reason that scene just fits these threads.

That's the thing. All of this rambling and dissertation doesn't really change the fact that people have their own firm opinions on this whole thing, most of which aren't going to change.

Like Murphie said, the debate has gone on for three threads now and not once has someone said 'Oh hey, I didn't think of it that way.' Even with that, the debate itself doesn't bother me. What annoys me is when the civility ends and people start tossing around insults.

I blame BRP for half of the flaming which went on in this tread. Why?
                  1. He should have boldfaced the "it's mostly empty" part in the first post.
                  2. The thread should be Introducing the BG-Wiki: The Beginning instead.
                  3. For being BRP, and confuse people by disguising himself as "Legal Fish".

Seriously, though, splitting of the wiki contributors isn't nice, but we can live with two, three wikis. Whether one or three wikis, it's still a lot better than back in the old days with no wiki and people without premium Allakhazam account like me can't search for anything on that site without using Google.

As for BRP/Elmer's time line, I actually look forward to it.

I'm still rooting for FFXIclopedia as the "best bet", but I now welcome both BG and Allakhazam wiki efforts. After all, how can you hate people who want to find and make public information about FFXI, and do so freely? (Yes, Wikia is commercial, but the info is still freely available, so don't chew my head off.)

Dude, this is pretty funny coming from you of all people, I've watched you argue at (not with) Icemage to the point of insult in the past. And since you know you're on thin ice from prior bans, which has been stated publicly, you watch what you say rather closely.

But I think essentially calling someone a walking abortion, whether you like them or not, and then playing the Feba card before telling us to raise the bar is probably the funniest shit I've ever seen. I don't particularly care for either of them but they have a right to an opinion.

If you want posts with quality, put your money where your mouth is and start making them and start owning up for past snipes at other members. Sev and I buried the hatchet, now's your turn. That means less running to BG to shit-talk people here and more worthwhile posting. Last time I can even recall a worthwhile post by you was...

I've been here since NA release day 1. Back then, it was pretty limited for all english players but you surely didnt need to rely on premium allakashitter for things thats for sure.

I could be wrong, but I believe it's less of a case of "disguising himself" and more of a case of "using an account that is actually able to post here."

A premium Alla account wasn't necessary at all for finding information. It helped, but there were still plenty of useful sites out there for information.

Opps. Forgot about those; been spoiled by FFXIclopedia in the last year or so. I still use somepage a lot, actually, just skipped my mind for some reason.

Not having to click on too many links to find reasonably trustworthy info is nice, so don't knock it.

I personally never edited a Wiki myself before, as such I'm an idiot and unsure of how to do it. If I could have I would have fixed those mistakes myself. Doing so for the betterment of the wiki and nothing more. But seeing as I couldn't do so I figured I'd at least point them out to be fixed.

Guides are opinion. When you click on a guide, you are exposing yourself to someone's opinion.
Guides should be fact first, opinions second. And when a lvling guide roughly skips about 30 lvls, that can be seen as a problem.

Additionally, expect to see that timeline double in size today. And that's just 1/3 of it's information. (And the stuff on that page isn't on History of Vana'diel. I usually search everywhere for information, and this is new stuff to english audiences, trust me on it).
Good, I hope it does expand and it does so in a more interesting format then just a listing of facts. Though the History of Vana'Diel isn't as detailed, it does a nice job of telling the stories that need to be told. And as I mentioned earlier, outside of the specific dates and names, the conflict between the Taru and Elvaan tribes is mentioned on there along with the alliance between the Quadav and the Elvaan. Which is what the vast majority of the current timeline covered. It's nice that someone finally decided to translate that year old JPonry text, but stop hoarding it over other sites like it's something no one else has access to.
