Just found out that gamestop and ebgames are taking reserves on WotG.
its slated for a december release. Both 360 and ps2 are getting the expansion and a complete set with the main game and all expansions kind of like the pc version of 06 and 07

ps2, pc and 360 expansion will be 29.99
complete set for ps2 will be 39.99 with the 360 one being 49.99
no word yet on a pc complete set yet but you know its coming

Now if only they would make another atlas of strat guide with everything up to this point.....

Both companies are notorious for taking pre-orders before the company releasing the game decides or announces a date. December is the logical time to assume since they stated Winter 2007, the fan festival is in mid-November and with ToAU the fan festival happened about a month before release.

Unfortunately, my date for Wings releases is just as reliable as EB or Gamestops. SE hasn't announced a date yet.

True enough they do that just to see if ppl will bite.

And from what i was told the date is December 3 so push it back about a week then thats when it'll come out

As far as shopping there goes.....wellim sry not all of us can afford to shop at walmart

About the complete set for ps2... I hope they're including a hard drive in there, as well. Because to the best of my knowledge, the only way to get a "ps2 hard drive" you have to buy the ps2 ffxi pack.

And if it's really coming out for ps2 (including HDD) I'll be a little ticked.

I spent a lot getting mine. Like, $100+

I take Gamestop/EB games release date with a grain of salt until the official announcment comes out. But I'm guessing it will come out late December - Mid January.

I don't really see the point in coming out with a ps2 collection unless it comes with the HDD... SE's not going to attract any new ps2 players that way, because without the HDD the game is pretty much useless. Unless the person wanting to play on ps2 can somehow get their hands on just the HDD itself, off ebay or something. In which case it would be smarter just to try to find the ps2 HDD + FFXI pack.

I'm pretty sure if you have a PS3 you can make a virtual HDD for PS2, and since the game was slated for PS2 they wont make the game for PS3. At least talking about getting new Playstation customers.

Well that goes without saying..The collection might be for those that have the game but cant find the other expansions since they have literally dissappered off the planet or for those that want to get into the game have a ps3 and want to play it on that...

I can understand why for the 360 and the pc though...

Ah, right. I had completely forgotten that you could play it on ps3 as well.

Though of course that might be because I've been pretending the ps3 doesn't exist, but that's another story >_>;
