        I don't see Chocobo Knight happening. Seems like a silly job for this game, especially considering how chocobos work. There's a lot more demand for Dancer/Geomancer/Time Mage and those jobs can actually be implemented a lot easier/more smoothly while being a lot more useful than "just another DD."

            There was a lot of demand for a Pirate too. You know why? Because every one pretty much envisioned it as, wait for it, a DD class.

            Look how many COR's there are because its not a straight out DD class. Look how many BLU's there are because it can be played as straight DD.

              That's actually a good point, following that up, How many BLUs actually use their variety to do something other than "OMG, I SELF SKILLCHAIN SOMETHING LAME LIEK GRAVITATION ONLY LAWLAWLAWL."

              To be fair, if I have a bad WHM, I'll see Wild Carrot cast on me more often than I'll see Cure 3, but that's a personal issue..

                        Who friggin cares about mystic knight ... If you turn your melee damage into magic damage so what? It's still damage, yours just might miss OR get partially resisted. And nothing in the game other than ghrah and empties actually has significant elemental affinity so it doesn't even matter what spell you're turning your sword into.

                        So what then? Status swords? Silence Sword! I swing my sword once and silence the mob, which makes my Silence Sword useless so I have to cast another spellsword ability immediately after to not just be a lame melee. Why wouldn't you just cast one-shot Silence when needed? Same with any other status effect. Stun Sword? If it's more effective then Head Butt spam then it's broken, if it's less effective then you're just a wannabe blu. Drain Sword? I really doubt they're gonna give Blood Weapon to someone other than drk and then let them use it all the time if they want.

                        Mystic Knight is a boring melee combined with a weak red mage ..

                          or a mix just combine a great sword wielding mix of drk and war with sword ws that can do an mb, the only problem with magic sword techs is you cant sata them.

                                Agreed that casting status effects on your sword would be over/underpowered but using magical DoT instead of melee DoT would make it different from all the other jobs who 'just do dmg'. It would be just another melee DD, just like Cor was another buffer, Blu is another DD/Debuffer and Time Mage will be another mage. But just because it's *role* is filled by numerous other jobs it doesn't mean it's 'style' is. There's no reason to not add a Mystic Knight job, just like there is no reason not to add Time Mage, Geomancer, Dancer etc etc etc. They can all fill one of the pre-existing roles of DD, Tank or Support but do so through a unique way.

                                p.s. An idea I had to add 'status' type attacks without making them useless or over powered was to have them be on one JA timer and do weak WS-like dmg plus the status when used. My full concept for the job and how it would work can be found in OMG's 'Fleshed Out Job Concept" topic.
