I thought you quit (again) or died or something. Good to see you man.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

HTTP Error 418 - I'm A Teapot - The resulting entity body MAY be short and stout.

Well, I was forced to quit by my PC. So I'm on hiatus until I figure out what to do in that area.

No, I was talking about how it was a scary prospect and something that I'd like to do eventually, but it wasn't anything I was working on at the moment.

              Maybe I'll buy a 360 or something.

You have to face your fears, it will make you a better person. Also, facing this fear will get you a new computer.

                    It's like win-win all around.

Well, I want a macbook anyway (well, I'll need it for school too), so a 360 makes more sense.

Yes, you're absolutely right, this is a much better solution.

That MacBook would also play FFXI through bootcamp.

                            Hi!

This forum needs someone who's insane about Windows to balance out Mhurron and myself. Then again, I don't think those people exist.

That depends on what sort of insanity you're looking for...

                                Re: What makes FFXI different?

Personally, I love FFXI for its variety/flexibility, which sets it appart from every other game I've played.

There is such a huge wealth of possibilities that it can be daunting. Choices in party setup, camp location, food choice, gear choice, and subjob choice can make every experience party different, and there are many other activities to choose from as well.

I mostly play Samurai and Red Mage, but many other jobs can change their play style for various activities as well.

I don't know any other game where most jobs can so easily alter their setup to assist the party as a whole. Most of this centers around the abilities and gear which effect enimity. Many jobs can choose to equip -enimity gear or sub thief to manage hate. Others may choose to use subjobs such as ninja or samurai to avoid taking some damage. Some may choose to use attacks which don't generate as much hate (ex: holy bolts). Some parties may choose to intentionally have secondary tanks regularly help.

Though it can be hard to take full advantage of the system given to us, when we do, it is incredibly fun.
