  • What's your favorite FFXI clock web site?

The Vana'diel clock over at mithrapride.org has been down for a few days now. Their entire web site appears to be down. I have no idea if it's temporary, or permanent.

Being able to look ahead several earth weeks is key for my gardening practices. I tried using Pyogenes web clock. It gets the job done, though I'm not thrilled with the presentation. All information on the page seems to blink out when I scroll up or down.

What resource (not counting the in-game clock itself) do you guys use?

I love the pyrogenes clock, never noticed the blinking effect. Then again I also love the presentation, you can choose to hide everything you don't want to see, and display like 5000 lines of what you do. It's very plain though, so I suppose if you're used to a clock with a lot of pretty graphics the pyrogenes one is very ugly and hard to read.

As I said though, I've always used pyrogenes, so I'm used to the layout and appearance.

Yes, it was inspired by the Simpsons
If you know how to download and use VRS, I am interested in being tutored.

Which version are you using of that Pyogenes one?

      * Version 1 - works for all timezones, and looks exacly like the original. [no longer in development]
      * Version 2 - an enhanced version of the one above. [no longer in development]
      * Version 3 - most enhanced version. Doesn't play nice with Mozilla. [no longer in development]

      KNOWN ISSUES
      1. Versions 1 & 2 - the "Unique Magic Effects" sections contain false information. The original version these are based off has the elemental strengths/weaknesses incorrectly entered. e.g. On Earthsday, Aero is listed as weakened instead of Thunder.
      2. Version 3 - Annoying flickering when running in Mozilla. This is scheduled to be fixed in Version 4.

Mine says ffxi/timer/v2.html so I guess it's version 2. I didn't know there were more advanced versions than that. As a mozilla user I guess I won't bother to update, since I rarely use it anyway these days and I don't want to argue with the page when I do.

Personally, I prefer the clock that comes with the FFXI Helper extension for Firefox, just 'cause I can open up Firefox and there it is, and just double-click the clock in the corner of my screen if I need to see more information like the RSE schedule or whatever (unfortunately, the alarms don't seem to work for me for some reason)

I'd post a link, but I haven't contributed sufficiently yet, unfortunately

Perhaps you were thinking of this? I installed it this morning, but haven't played around with it enough to understand its full functionality yet.
