Re: What would you like to see in WoTG

I think some of the grassy areas in the pictures might have been gustaberg zones. Look at the one with the bridge real closely.

      Taru

      Lots of Taru

transform a yellow spot into the sun.

The one with the bridges bore much more of a resemblance to things you saw in Lufaise Meadows and Miseraux Coast. I'm more inclined to think its an expanded part of the Tavnazian Archipelego or and extention of Davoi.

I don't think Bastok ever knew what grass was.

End-game rewards being entirely based on crafting.

No unnecessary melee jobs that are just there to pay homage to older games.

            No. Crafted. AFs. Ever. Again.

            Geomancer, Dancer, Viking and Alchemist.

Time travel-based quests a la Ocarina of Time. A heavy past/present missions system.

Some new, huge zones to explore like in CoPs.

            More Assault/Limbus-style endgame reward systems.

The Orchish Empire - I want to see it.

To see Fenrir dine on the Yagudo.

              Geomancer. Calculator. Mediator.

We could really use another tank class, they're so hard to find at lower levels. Geomancer could work well for this.

Calculator seems like it could fit into the time travel story line well. Possibly an awesome sub for blm, though I'm not sure exactly how they would work in FF11.

Mediator has so many possibilities. They could be a sort of no mp buffer/debuffer like bard only more single target and offensive based. They would ofcourse have staff as their main weapon. It would give SE a chance to introduce some different buffs/debuffs, possibly ones involving hate. I think they would also work well in the story with the war and all.

ohh and more content for 6man groups like assault.

Jobs I want to see are: Time Mage, Mystic Knight (DD)(EnFlare ftw), and Gladiator (tank job!)

I would like the see a REAL crowd control job, something that goes a bit deeper than sleeping shit.

BST had all the potential in the world for this role and it was never realized, had they been given a form of Bind and allowed to charm higher level mobs with no EXP penalty, BRDs would have very little on them for crowd control.

                    Level capped WotG Missions.

That's right! Level capped! Altana forbid we actually use strategy instead of zerging through it with 75 jobs, right?

Maybe they could combine Calculator and Time mage into 1 job (the 2 most over powered jobs from fft in 1!!!) and balance it ofcourse. This could fit in since so many people are shouting for time mage but complain how most of the time spells are taken already. I think the nature of these 2 jobs and the story line would fit well together. It would also be good for crowd control with spells like Stop.

Well one problem with potential is that few players will realize it. Corsair has great potential to be DD at higher levels but I see so few people using it this way. BST can be great DD/crowd control but good luck getting an invite. And BLU can be used for so many thing but all I ever see them do is bludgeon.

If SE wants a job to fit into a roll they're going to need to be pretty clear cut about it.

Re: What would you like to see in WoTG

Time Mage, in my opinion, is not feasible. Why? Red Mage. RDM already gets Slow, Paralyze, Bind, Regen, Refresh, and Haste. The main Time Mage spells. What else would they get, Demi? Damage based on percentage of the target's current HP is not going to work well. Why? Suppose Demi does 10% of the target's HP in damage, and there's an HNM with 1 million HP. The melees are doing 100 per hit, and the Time Mage's first Demi is for 100,000. If the percentage is too low, then the spell will be entirely worthless except in HNM situations.

What they might be able to do is make the Demi line Dark-elemental nukes, and have a Comet line as Light-elemental nukes, to draw in the Space aspect. Still, you would end up with a backline Red Mage with Lgiht/Dark nukes instead of Elemental nukes. Not distinct enough, IMHO.

I would like SE being able to change people's mentality so they could stop the "level caps mean strategy!" nonsense. If a battlefield is well designed the level of players has little importance.

But, if SE does indeed implement level caps then I want them to give me enough inventory space and/or a better muling system so I don't waste the little time I have to play just muling gear.

Though there's that picture of the house, its either konstac highlands where that gobby/lizzy camp is or northern gustaberg along that path where you come from the OP where that bridge used to be.
