  • Low transportation

Hi, is there any realistic way for someone below level 5 to get from Windhurst to Bastok?

That's why I said realistic, one hit from almost any monster and I'd be down.

If you avoid aggro, then yes. It's rather difficult if you're new, but just stay as far away from monsters as you can, and wait for them to move if you have to. It's not as hard as it may seem. There are two ways to go, either

E.Sarutabaruta -> Tahrongi Canyon -> Meriphataud Mountains -> Sauromuge Champaign -> Rolanberry Fields -> Pashhow Marshlands -> Konschtat Highlands -> North Gustaberg -> South Gustaberg

That is obviously going to take quite a while, and you will have to dodge tons of aggro, but it is doable.

          Also, you can go;

E.Sarutabaruta -> Tahrongi Canyon -> Buburimu Peninsula -> Mhaura (ride the boat to Selbina) -> Valkurm Dunes -> Konschtat Highlands -> North Gustaberg -> South Gustaberg

The only bad thing here is, in Valkurm, you have to dodge bats in a tunnel, unless someone kills them for you. So if someone can kill them for you, then this is your very best bet.

Just try and walk if you really want to go to Bastok, otherwise stay in Windy and level up a bit and try later. :]

Thanks to Roguewolf for the sig. :D

Thanks, for the route, I was going to use the second, that the bats were the reason I asked, but I'll use the first one.

Is there a lvl limit on these free city warp moogles that have appeared? Use one of those!

I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

Moogles in town for the Celestial Events will warp you to the other cities. In Windy it will be near the gate to East Saru<tab>.

If you pick up a few sneak oils and Prism powders you can avoid a lot of the aggro. Bats are sound and the goblins will be sight.

Running is a very realistic solution.

You have to be level 20 and make it to Jeuno before you can get Chocobo access. So every player goes through the rite-of-passage of making the dangerous journey from Bastok/Sandy/Windurst to Jeuno. The mobs in the zones just outside of Jeuno will kill a level 20 about as fast it would a level 5 (well, perhaps not in one hit... but aggro at either level is a death sentence).

Going from Windurst to Bastok could be done as Windurst to Jeuno, and then Jeuno to Bastok. If non-mage jobs can make both of those trips at level 20 without aggro, there's no reason a level 5 job couldn't do the same.

Make sure you switch to a level one job, something like Thief for Perfect Dodge or Paladin for Invincible. You never know when it might come in handy.

I'd take the boat because you can HP at Mhaura and Selbina cutting your trip in half if you die.

                            Re: Low transportation

I've done this as lvl 10 thf but this was after I'd played the first NA beta test and I knew the zones very well...and I was a near-expert at avoiding sight agro.(I got even better at it!)

I do really hate the Sand Bats in that one tunnel but if you have to grab some slient oil and go right past'em. In the past they killed me countless times so I'd rather be safe than sorry anymore...

If I had unlocked Paladin then I would a character whose lvl is at least 30, so I wouldn't have this problem.
