I have finally met a rmt party that I failed to kill...

3 anticans and no jamming wave to silence the blms

none of the blms casted ga spells (I left the ant unclaimed incase they did)

Monster regen effect made their TP use stupid slow...

Despawn patch kept it from aggroing their resting members

I failed to talk their token war into misvoking my ant

I DID manage to contrive an earth elemental to aggro one of the blms, but it didn't link to any other members and the token whm raised him anyway.




....man I miss the days when I used to walk a pet Haunt down the shores of Quifm and pick off fifteen fishing bots in a row.


Is there still any way to randomly mpk-in-passing the gilseller pts I see leveling?

One way to go about getting around the anti-mpk patch is the "Dia Trick".

The party you're trying to kill gets a link, which the mages cast sleep on. They then focus on the main mob, while the add goes yellow. You cast Dia on the slept monster, thereby waking it up, but all the hate is on the person that slept it.

Since Dia is a dot spell, this will render the awoken mob unsleepable so long as Dia is in effect. The only draw back is they have to sleep a mob first, so waiting for a link could be awhile; on the upside, it's really effective as I've wiped a couple RMT groups using this tactic.

Another way to MPK post patch i've seen, is to zone or leave mobs with no actual pop zone i.e. Goblin Diggers and Certain NMs. I've seen videos of Thiefs aggroing Goblin Diggers, getting near the RMT and then using the Hide ability.

Thief losses aggro and will attack the lowbie fish bots. I'm pretty sure you can still zone NMs and they will walk back to their spawn and aggro instead of disappearing.

Hmm, those are the ways i'm remembering now, I'm sure there're more though.

People who look for ways to MPK RMT genereally end up MPKing other people for other reasons.

BST: "I'll only ever use this to MPK RMT.... and other LSes I don't like."
BRD: "I'll only ever use Mazurka to steal claim from and MPK RMT... and other LSes I don't like"

Both jobs got a reward for that - nerfage.

You're not wearing the RMT down at any rate, you're not going to stop them. You're just venting like a child. Their accounts will be deleted, they'll restart. You won't stop them so give up your stupid crusade, it accomplishes nothing.

Even if you could MPK the more desirable target - a gilbuyer, they're still going to use thier credit cards and they're not going to quit. These people are here to stay, all you can hope is SE continues to find ways to discourage them and make thier numbers and profits dwindle.

The RMT had to play into deflation to survive deflation and the constant deletion of accounts and gilbanks forces thier prices to go up on in-game currency. Right now on Titan, IGE wants $120 for two million gil. I have to question the intelligence of anyone who makes such a purchase, rich or not, because I can make that off a couple god drops I could bid on tonight if all goes well. I could get it easily elsewhere in-game, too.

RMT are diminishing in FFXI to a degree, though I'm told some servers have it much worse than Titan does, its not as bad here as it used to be. It used to be much, much worse here. I remember when NQ Scorpion Harness was 15 mil, now its 300-400k.

i think anyone who complains about rmt and prices at this point in time must be smoking crack.

when i started this game at NA release, things like SH and brown belt were at 4mil and 300k respectively. At the height of the RMT invasion, SH was 17+mil and brown belt was 1+mil.

Now, SH is 350k and brownbelt is 400k. This goes for other items, things are down further than before the RMT invasion.

I think a lot of times people feel they will get some sort of praise for trying to hunt down or mpk RMT. I really think no one really cares whether you mpk'd 25 rmt last night or not. It just tells everyone that you have a lot of spare time on your hands and that you're boring.

I understand with what you're saying and I agree. RMT isn't going anywhere; MPK won't make them leave my server.

However, If i'm out somewhere and a group of cgf have a slept link, you can bet your ass, I'm going to cast a dot on it. That's better than just sitting there letting them get exp with no opposition.
