How can you tell whos a RMT in this game? I want to know, because I dont want to end up talking to them and coned into their little games....

You are already take this down the wrong path.... first off you really cant tell, other then looking at "RMT staples" like odd names, or a full PT leveling iwht no gear -.- or things like that. RMT in game dont "con" you into anything, they do their thing to make money and then sell it.

Its best to just not bother "trying to stay away form them" and just keep note of the "odd" PTs you might see.

Well, the common earmarks are being /anon, wearing very cheap gear or gear that is inappropriate for their job/level, having no linkshell, and/or having a name that's suspicious for any number of reasons. Typically some combination of those things causes people to think you're RMT. But the only way to really know that someone is RMT is if you give them dollars and they give you gil back in return. You could also ask them. Sometimes an RMT will tell you yes in case you want to buy gil from them.

First you have to go to IMAX theater and steal the glasses they tell you to put back in the little bin. Then you put those on and change your settings for FFXI to 2048 x 2048 background, and 600 x 480 Graphical Overlay, and turn MIP mapping all the way up to 32.

Then play the game. As can be viewed with the glasses, RMTs are the people without souls.

But say "Bonjour!" just to make sure that you aren't accusing any soulless French people.

Serious note, real easy to spot rmts. They'd be in most of the old areas exping, wearing cheap lowbie gear, CP armor. Though any thf or nin rmt that goes camping nms will have some decent gear >_>; But the whole /anon, runs like a chicken with its head cut off when heading to a pop area, strange name and strange ls name is what usually gives it away.

I've been accused of being RMT beacuse i'm THF/NIN, and too lazy to equip my real gear when I'm farming, I go anon, and have a funny linkshell name (FeelFreeBreeze). Hell, I've been reported as being an RMT more times then I can count >.>

Yea...my character's name is "Reikouki" I get the same thing. One day I was on my way to unlock COR, and so I was going through the Mire, and I expected most of the Imps to be dead, as they almost always are, so I wasn't being too careful. I got imp aggro and asked for help, and a party wildly accused me of being RMT, it was funny, except for the fact I was getting owned. "RMT" "He's RMT don't help!" "RMTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I /tell'd everyone and was like wth? I'm on THF/WHM, and wanted to be /anon...man, can you guys raise me for being bastards? And they reluctantly raised me, still thinking I was an evil RMT that had learned to speak english. >_>

Their SMN even said "I hope I'm doing the right thing here..." when he raised me, lol.
