Which face did you pick?

Alright, I haven’t been given the liberty to play this game yet, but I do enjoy spending some time with the Character Creation Trial. And now I'm curious. I could ask why you chose the race you did, but that gets into the individual stats for each race. When choosing a face, it is solely based on personal preference and has no effect on your performance. So, which face did you pick and why?

I picked my face 'cause all the other Elvaan faces were goofy. Elvaan 7-A is the w2g. Now, sadly, I wish I was a Taru, as I feel they're cooler in general, and not quite as funny looking over-all. Oh well. At the time I thought my character looked cool, and that's all that matters I think.

Random side-track, anyone know where I can get the .dat mod to swap my character into a Taru? I'd like that a lot.

I picked Taru male 8a because of the hair, reminded me of my hair as a kid.

For Mithra I picked 8b, I liked it because it seemed cuter and more unique than generic white-haired mithra 6a. Pigtails aside, I liked that face 8 had a headband the other mithra don't get.

wiccan wrote and supports a tool called wardrobe that's much easier to use (and generally safer) than dat swapping. google "ffxi wardrobe" (as the link to site it's hosted on is prohibited here)

Ah, damn. I've been wanting to swap and be a Taru for just a little while, I tire of my monkey-ish Elvaan so much I almost want to start over again. Oh well, I guess I can just live with him and pretend he's a Taru or something. At least I didn't pick a Galka. @_@

I chose Taru male face 4-B. I wish I'd gone with 4-A but oh well. I did it because I liked it.

I started off with female taru 2A because I thought she looked cute but evil, but had trouble with taru being so small on the screen and the viewpoint being so close to the ground so I switched to a hume.

Saren ended up as a female hume 3A because she looks kinda 'ordinary girl next door', there are a lot of very tough looking hume female models. 3A looks feminine but not braindead and I prefer dark hair.

As mad as it sounds my hume face looks like my real life face if i didn't shave.First time i saw it I thought i was seeing things

Yeah the headband is cool. Face #8 is one of my favorites for Mithra.

Hey whats with all this Galka bashing

I picked 2 Galkas for my characters

Brickshouse is Face 2B

Thearchitect is Face 4B ( kind of a Klingon lookalike)

Personally, I think Galkas are a little too big and bulky for my tastes. Surprising that Elvaan are actually stronger though..

Yeah that's a nice one. One of my favorites for hume females. Although if I were to play one I think I would go with 4A. Not too different when it comes to face, but the hair style is unique.

Yeah the headband is cool. Face #8 is one of my favorites for Mithra.

I'll admit I find the model both adorable and annoying. Annoying that when I put on full RNG AF, my mithra looks like she should be selling Girl Scout cookies. And there's really no way to make that Wyvern Helm look badass when those blond bangs hanging out boths sides.

Totally works with COR AF hat tho.

Haha, true. If I go with mithra, I think I would pick #1. It's cute, simple, and not too terribly common. Sixth most common face according to the latest census. 1A does look pretty nice, but when I try to image myself playing as that model, I think I would like the higher contrast of 1B more.
