Yes it is possible to quit this game, I know many who have quit, some came back, some haven't, some never will. It's just one of those things.

As for not knowing people, maybe it's about time you got out there and socialised more in Vana'diel. It's not hard to meet new people, just harder to find the ones worth adding to FL.

I especially hate people who add you to FL just to pester you with /tells at all times like "PL me I will pay you", "I need <this>, help me get it" and other such annoying nagging which continues even after you reply "no".

Oh, they do check out. I'm getting rid of my HDD and wouldn't blow the PC space for this game. Or the money for another copy. HDD was my brother's anyway, and he doesn't want to play it, but he's getting it back to put in its box and collect dust along with dozens of other games. I'm checked out for good. Couple of my friends quit and I never heard from them again. Anywhere. Much to my dismay.

Some people quit over temporary annoyances. They tend to return. But those of us that quit over a total lack of enjoyment of the very system of the game (and everything in it), we don't come back. Why would we? Who plays games they hate? Why do you think EB et al do so well with the trade in business? :p (Well, aside from the high turnover rate of sporting games.) I've only officially been out a month or so, but in the whole past year I'd only logged in about 12 times. I've been lvl 60 summoner since sometime last Sept. or Oct. It's safe to say I'm done. (Having a more fun MMO to play that requires less of my soul signed over in blood makes things better as well.)

I keep interest in the community out of curiousity and the fact that I did spend three years in it, but so do quite a few people here who quit and still post. And I'd like to help newbies with whatever outdated knowledge I may retain in time.

Anywho.

@Fallen: I had an experience like that. Out of the blue, while standing in Sandy, I got a FL add request. Seeing it was a newbie, I accepted. He never sent me a tell. Not for about a week. Then suddenly one day I got one from him. 'Hey, could you come PL my party in the dunes?' Yeah. Hello Blacklist. :3

Some of the best friends I did have there came from Linkshells and the (few) exceptional parties I encountered. You never know where you'll find people, but you will if you just talk and don't expect people to like you without you speaking.

I quit nearly a year ago, came back in march, was thoroughly unimpressed, and have had little desire to return since then.

Telera, Would you come back on and PL my PT please! JK. I'm started to feel exactly what yur saying... I'm really sick of beating on wurms, goblins, and lizzys. If it wasn't for the vast amount of other things available in this game, Id a been gone by now for sure!
