Well to stick to Final Fantasy fashion the currency is Gil,
the best way to make Gil is from selling stacks of items as the only monsters that drop gil are Beastmen...
Although I don't know what sells for the most as all I've learned of the game is from reading FFXIclopedia which you should most likely do so you can stop asking these questions...

Jaggs, there's only so much we can take, we've given him advice to goto the offical site, and other sites so he can read, make a real question, and then come back. he's treatingthis like a chat service, and posts any random sentance that pops in his head, frankly, I'm about to add him to my ignore list, and reqeust he getsIP banned.

FFXI is NOT the game for him, never has been, never will be. Go back to WoW/Guild Wars.

Ok, obviously this guy isn't the sharpest knife the the drawer, but I think you guys are being a little to hard on him. Posts like Jrgsubzero's first reply here are totally uncalled for and are going to start getting warnings themselves.

To the OP, FFXI is a hard, complex game with a huge amount of information to the absorb. If you're not going to take the initiative to find out the answer to a simple question like "Is there gold?" or open the manual long enough to figure out how to hook up a USB keyboard for yourself, then you're honestly just going to wander around clueless for a month. There are already plenty of threads here and resources that people have linked to that answer your questions. If you really want to find out more about the game, just friggin read them.

Personally, I find his rudeness far worse than posts like Jrg's. Jrg might be harsh, but really, look at his threads. We tried to be nice. We really did. We can only take so much though before the attempts at kindness give way to the urge to kill.

I agree that posting threads like "how do I plug in a keyboard" and "where can I find a wireless cable" (honestly -.- are pretty obnoxious, but that's not an excuse to attack him. He's just an overenthusiastic clueless newbie who's either going to wise up or give up soon enough. If it bothers you that much just ignore him and/or report him (as many people have already done).

But seriously guys get your act together, Some of the replies have been just foul. I cant believe some of the things you have said to the op,

please not everyone whom plays this game is 35 living in their mothers basement with no other thing in life than FFXI.
We have children in amongst the final fantasy comunity, my younger sister for example is 11, and she was thrilled to bits to be gettting FF for her birthday, To be fair she didnt spam the boards with random stuff. but she was still excited and full of questions which may have been silly to some but to her they were things she didnt know.

all we can do is try and help and point in the direction of information. if you dont want to help the person posting then just press back on your browser after you have rofl at the post

remember the game is about helping people and making friends

we are a diverse comunity, not everyone is a sci fi freak or computer whizz,

Me myself I am a nurse but i wouldnt trash somebody because they didnt know how to perform a procedure I'd learnt.

Respect for one another is something severely lacking on most forums nowadays

just remember we were all newbies at one time.
