Has anyone actually done this yet? I had assumed that you would repeat DM and then recieve the reward as normal, but my friend who's trying to do it is pulling his hair out because first the questgiver apparently sent him to visit the fountain again at the full moon (it was new moon at the time), then when he got there it asked him for a light ore. There are none in stock on the AH and the ones that are being bazaared are price jacked up to 1M gil. On top of that, he says the people he's talked to who actually turned in the light ore still didn't get their earring, but a key item to repeat DM again. Wtf? How many steps does it take for him to get his earring back? ><

Re: Reobtaining DM earring - How?
So you do definately have to do DM again twice if you want to change your earring? That's stupid. Repeating the fight was a given. Asking for a light ore so people aren't changing their earring every conquest week is understandable. But then repeating DM again is unnecessary BS.
In contrast I hear to change your CoP ring all you have to do is toss it and talk to the guy again.

Re: Reobtaining DM earring - How?
And here I was hoping to swap to Suppa whenever I got tired of Bushi...
Thank you (and F-You) SE for this BS. Why didn't they just do the same thing they did with Rajas/Tamas/Satva? Go to sky, see Yve'noille and then get your earring and half to wait like say 1-2 months before you can do it again.
Ugh it's times like this I want to just shoot everyone @ SE -. -
Doing DM once was enough. Quit the BS. Why not just make us do all of CoP all over again for the rings instead of just going to the tavern while you're @ it SE?

Re: Reobtaining DM earring - How?
I'm guessing they thought it would be an equal exchange. While its not, can't hurt to compare to the rest.
CoP Ring: Drop ring, go to bridge, re-pick, wait 27 days, able to do again.
AN earring: Drop earring, erase Shadows of the Departed and Apocalypse Nigh from quest list, repeat both quests (takes 2 days), wait another day to get earring. Repeat every conquest week if desired (I don't even want to have to do Shadows a second time, plus I love my magnetic earring, yes I do, you're so cuddly and...erm sorry)
DM earring: Drop earring, get lectured by Yu'vlone, trade Light ore to fountain on full moon, trade new item to Yu'vlone, repeat BC, get new earring, redo every conquest as desired.
So yeah, CoP rings got it out easy, but getting an AN earring back isn't any easier than DM. Yeah it was dumb that S-E made it require Light ore (which will sky rocket in price for a while), but that much can be done solo. You need at least a party of people willing to run back through the first 3 promies with you for Shadows, not to mention redoing AN, which is harder than DM. So yeah, its expensive, but at least its easy.sigpic

I think you have the order on the CoP ring wrong. I believe it's drop ring, wait 27 days, go to bridge, re-pick.

If it is the way you say, then that's less retarded, but still a major issue that the "version two" quest isn't being given until after take two of the version one quest.

Re: Reobtaining DM earring - How?
Uhhuh, that's my point, don't freaking drop it and you won't have a freaking problem. It's your own damn fault, and like I said, you should be grateful that SE would let you redo it.
