So, for someone nearing the level cap, I'm curious about the genkais. How difficult are they, really? Can any be solo'd? Is it difficult to get help doing them?

Not so much difficult as time consuming. Yes. Sometimes.

Depending on which one you're talking about. The only one I think you can solo is really LB 4. I could be wrong. But when I did mine I needed help to do it. I couldn't solo them except LB4, which is just running around talking to npc.
