i perfer JP PTs being EU the JPs play in the morning and NA play after midday that being said i have my share of PTs with both nations the JP has never had to tell me how to play my job as i already now how, before i play a new job i do research to find out what are the strenghts, weakness, what we are invited to PTs for i've done it with all the jobs i play, i've even been invited to JP orny PTs to like someone said they are polite you know your PT will last for 4-5 hours or what ever the set disband time is, so if your friend asks you to help him you can say sure after this PT and then give him the estamited time of disbanding of your PT, i have nothing againist the NA i like thier PTs to but i perfer JP

6. JP players don't mind camp crowding as much--well, they are better at tolerating it than most NA players. (This drives me crazy; I consider it a major fault!)
I think this is more about higher tolerance to situations (and resistence to bitching) rather than actually don't minding overcrowding. Specially since 90% of the times it's NAs who get to an already full camp to kill everyone's xp (because they can't take the time to check how many parties are already there before leaving the city).
I've found that unless there aren't any better camps or disbanding time is too close, a JP party will stop and just look for a better camp, rather than fight like dogs for the mobs like NAs do. You know, the "lolIbeatthepullerfromtheotherparty" attitude that's so stupid and annoying (and that it also happens to kill everyone's xp).
Or at least that's how it's been for me on Fenrir.
sigpic "In this world, the one who has the most fun is the winner!"C.B.
I am also an EN player that can understand/speak/read a lot of JP, and have the chance to see both sides of the argument.
1st of all, in response to IfritnoItazura's long post(too much to quote), I will respond to the points I have a different view on.
2. I actually find it the opposite, perhaps it's due to the fact that nothing is new anymore, and everything is test and proven, the definition of "new idea" now means "idea that that certain individual has not heard of". Everytime I suggest a "new idea" in a NA(/EU as well, since I can't tell) PT, the PT would either dismiss my "idea" quietly, or they will make a fuss over it because their intelligent self has never heard of such "new idea"; whereas a JP PT would probably just give it a try, if that "new idea" is new to them... Anyhow, this lead back to point 1 of yours, that idiots aren't limited to nationality, nor is narrow-mindedness.
3. I am not a JP, and I tend to "over-heal" too, and I always have my party's safety over my own(if I am a WHM, I have RR). But I will agree this sympton is more common in JP PT.
4. Some JP PT are the same nowaday. Refer to point 1 of yours.
5. Not to my experience, well, not exactly the way you described it. First of all, most people know their roles by now, except the few idiots in either side(NA/EU v JP) that are in denial of the facts; there is rarely a need to set a verbal agreement on who is healing who, who is -naing who, after a couple of fights, the mages usually come to an understanding on how to cope with the other mage. This also appear in some good NA/EU PT.... well, back to point 1 again.
6. Exact opposite to what I find.
NA/EU PT: If the camp is taken... "we will camp ontop of them, push them out, and we will claim double fast even if our party can't handle", changing camp is often out of question.
JP PT: If the camp is taken, and they are too lazy to change camp... "we will camp behind that PT that came before us, common courtesy as they arrived before us", or they will change camp.
Then again, PT SHOULD always /search the camp before going there, having an e-thug attitude("if there is a party there, we will just outclaim them so they will leave before us") will only lead to needless drama and very often bad EXP for both parties.
8. Exactly, JP talks about seperating servers from day 1, we do the same, there are also (amazing fact to the narrow-minded ones) JP that would stand up for NA/EU just like there are NA/EU who would do the same for JP... But honestly, both side throw some pretty racist responses.
9. Different culture. As I am born a Chinese, my culture is really simular to that of the Japanese, so by natural, I find the Japanese way very pleasing. But this is a matter of view, I am happy as long as party ends with [Thank you] [Party], and not people just leaving left and right. Well, I will play by the JP way if I am in a JP party, /bow for everything, thank you for everything; and I will play by the NA way if I am in their party.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Well, this is basically beating a dead horse(it's probably minced by now with all the beatings...), if we can't stop racism in our daily life(this thing called Real life), I doubt we can do anything to stop the JPvsNA on FFXI.
I just wish people would realise that idiots aren't limited to race nor nation, just like RMT can be Japanese or Americans, /anon LSless players =/= RMT when they are camping NMs, etc.
I personally prefer oldies party, regardless of race(well, more common in JP side at the moment...): party that does Skillchain, know about party formations, help members get to camp, doesn't look for replacement when they leave, listen to advice when they need, etc.... Guess I am dreaming.

this is what i do i know how the JP and NA act in PTs i know them probably in side out by now, i myself wish the NA played more like the JP but they'll never happen =/ i've even had super nice JPs who try to auto trans everything possible for me to read and i do the same to them, i've met super nice NA, i dont know what the NA and JP have againist each other there is no need to go JP or NA orny in my search comment i have EU/JP/NA meaning i'll PT with anyone as long as the PT is working out getting a good exp / hour i dont care if they can speak english or not, it's a game people should really play to enjoy themselfs

Have you seen photographs of traffic and tourist destinations during "Golden Week"? Japanese IRL really do like to go where everyone else is; it's quite amazing.

yet not a mote of dust is stirred;

leaving no trace in the water. - Mugaku
People only bash NAs because the NA base has gotten into some habits which a lot of people think are no good when compared to the habits of the JP playerbase, for instance, XP party etiquette. What's accepted by NA and JP are different, and the people that prefer the JP way like to complain that it's better than the NA way.
I think the problem is that JP players ,when they post, many times will post in a way that makes it seem that they are the only ones who know how to play and if you don't play that way, then you are playing wrong. Another reason why it seems like there is so-much NA bashing is because many of the JP players tend to only trust other JP players(not sure as to why though). Lastly, since the game came out in Japan before it came out here(by at least 6-9 months-don't remember the specific dates of release), many JP players feel that they made the game(which is false because it took more than just JP people to make the game) and in turn are the only people that know the game.
I personally have never had a problem with any JP player(or for that matter anyone at-all) so I am only giving reasons for the sake of trying to help out the op.
Remember, for every "rude" player there are 9 "cool" players in the game. Just because a few players seem to be bashing a certain group of players doesn't mean all the players think like that.
u have to know when to hold them, know when to fold them

When was the last time you saw shouts or search comments saying "NA Only"?

When was the last time you saw shouts or search comments saying "NA Only"?
And when was the last time you saw shouts of Japanese saying "[Japanese] [Please]" just to rain on people's parade when they are just having fun? When EN players spam shout just as much and JP players probably have no idea what they are saying either? "It's a joke" doesn't work when you are talking to someone you don't know, and that definately didn't sound funny to me, but just plain rude, and that kinda behaviour is called "Ruining someone's fun for no apparent reason".
On the other hand, "JP onry" has 2 reasons:
1. Racism.
2. They simply want a Party that consist of people that they can easily communicate with, even with the translator, it is still hard to communicate sometimes. I prefer forming full EN party if I can, because I prefer easier communication and perhaps a few jokes here and there as we level... am I now a racist because I prefer forming an EN onry party?
Sure, I have been declined by a few JP onry racists that ran away from me for replying in translator and not Konnbanwa... but I do understand that some people just want a party that they can communicate.
Racism is not a racial trait, its a humanity trait, NA, EU and JP are all racist in their own way, but that doesn't mean all NA, EU or JP are racist scums, same exact logic for "idiots aren't restricted in nationality".
Since I am on "JP only", what do you guys think about non-JP who put on J preference, and have "JP only" in their exp comment? Wapanese? Hating their own racial group?
