Being supportive of your country has nothing to do with what you think about the people in your country.

I can only think of one particular thread recently that made mention of NA behavior as compared to the rest of the player population. And I think we've been an equal opportunity sub-group basher. There have been threads where JPs have been bashed.

People only bash NAs because the NA base has gotten into some habits which a lot of people think are no good when compared to the habits of the JP playerbase, for instance, XP party etiquette. What's accepted by NA and JP are different, and the people that prefer the JP way like to complain that it's better than the NA way.

But, seriously, call me a hippie or something, but I have to go with Mhurron when she said (maybe sarcastically, who knows) that the world would be a better place without patriotism. In my belief, pride is a sin, and for a good reason, for a -lot- of regretable mistakes have been made for the sake of the self, or, by extension, the state the self lives in.

In short, patriotism is just glorified narcissism.

This is pretty much how I feel. A stupid British person is no stupider then a stupid American. It shouldn't matter where we're from.


Also, when I talk about patriotism, I talk about finding the good reasons to live in the country your in and liking it. Most otaku's I've met usually say Japan is superior, even though they've never even been there, and all they know of it is through Anime and Games.

Jei, maybe a little personal, but is there a reason why you'd rather live in the states than any other country, like Austrailia, Canada, UK, etc?

Well, I have U.S. citizenship. That's why.

Thai community is really fucked up in Australia but is kinda nice here in U.S.
Haven't considered Europe really. I went to England on my own once long ago and people weren't they welcoming : /
