Re: About changing servers update!
story about changing servers. i started playing on cactaur (north american beta server). i had many friends and we had a stable economy. once beta was over and retail was launched, a large number of us ended up on midgardsormr. almost everyone i knew in game was there. but it seemed like we were missing something, and that was our original server. everyone i talked to said the same thing we want cactaur back. i think most of us eventually settled in and accepted the fact that midgard was now home. it never felt the same and to this day i still miss cactaur. well after a period of time there was the european release of FFXI. with this came server migration. many people in my ls and many of the original na beta testers were set on world migration. i could not leave another server again even if it meant i was going to be only person left in my ls. when the time came for the migration only a few from my ls left. i did make a mule and migrated him so i could keep in touch and even still play with my friends. it didnt take but just a couple of weeks i saw that i was really glad i hadnt migrated my main. my mule was no longer at home. everyone that i knew that had migrated soon quit playing. they all said the same thing, "I wish i had never migrated". its hard to make someone else understand the feelings and attachments you get to a server and its people. this game is a social experience, if you leave your familiar group you get that being alone uncomfortable feeling. i believe anyone that migrates to another server will ultimately regret their decision. well maybe not people that havent made alot of friends or who have alienated themselves for some reason. so if your considering changing servers think along time.
