Re: bought the DvD collection, no dvd rom!
Mhurron was jk though, but I guess you gotta read more of his posts to get it; since it might be too much for a newcomer (and even Taskmage took it kinda seriously ).
About the DVD rom thing, it's usually the software that's Region coded, and even then most players let you make at least 3 region changes before making it permanent (and those changes are software based so they reset upon reinstall).
So, unless you are planing on tossing your Region 1 dvds and buy all UK then even that wont even matter.
Also, you can just disassemble your computer and put all the essencial parts in a small box.
-CPU, DVD/CD rom drives, Memory, videocard (if any), mouse, monitor (unless it's a CRT), etc. and take em with you for recycling so you can use em again on your newish rig.
That way you just gotta buy the big shipment costly parts like the casing, a new (not DIAF'd) motherboard, and keyboard which are fairly cheap anyway.
So in other words... buy the DVD ROM, they go as low as 12 bucks new.
