I get a fair number of invites in Japanese, but I always make clear I'm not Japanese myself. Which is... fairly easy... since S-E doesn't let me type in Japanese character set...

Thanks Murphie, now i've got Japanese and movie quotes in the front of my head. You know what that means? The voice in my head keeps saying "My name is Inigo Montoya..."

you remind me of one of my friends, she buys pretty much every movie that comes out, and watches quite a few of them nearly obbsessively. I mean, a lot of it is because her company shows videos as part of kids birthday parties, and to draw customers, in blatant disregard for the warnings about showing those discs in public, but still, i'm not entirely sure she wouldn't do it anyway.

The name is borrowed from a character in a series of fantasy novels by Katherine Kerr (the Deverry saga, anyone?) and Alshandra is a character who is essentially a spirit that's lost her way in the world, but holds great power and is a bit evil and causes all sorts of trouble.

I recently found out Enjo kousai is female prostution in japan (or something similar), and a term for a woman to address her um, (fun)(zone) in another language

It was a very old translation from a totally obsure and crap refrence to rebirth in japanese.

Wev is a tabletop RPG character I played a long time ago. He's a half-elf, half-watersprite swordsman who could channel magic through his sword. A young, spritely lad with blue hair. His FFXI incarnation is the young-looking Elvaan, 7-A I believe, with the white hair.

For his name, I took the Skies of Arcadia water spell "Wevlet," and added 'rain' to the end, because it was raining when he was born... I think that's why I added it anyway.

My mules have a much simpler backstory:

Blueshanks is a San d'Orian TaruTaru, and named because of his blue hair (The one with the short ponytail in back).

Ever since Treasures of Aht Uhrgan released, it's been a goal of mine to somehow unlock Corsair for him, y'arr. ^^

Vanillin is a Windurstian Mithra.

For her, I simply wanted to do the standard Cute-RPG-Food names (Like Apple, Mint, Tiramisu, stuff like that) thing. I tried to name her Vanilla (A favorite flavor of mine,) but alas, it was taken! I went then, with the artificial flavoring, Vanillin, and voila~!
