Macro key binding?

Is there a way to rebind macros to the number keys on a keyboard, the ones above the letters but below the F# keys not the the numpad instead of having to use alt+# or ctrl+# for macros?

Not within the structure of the game itself, no. Using an external program like windower, or perhaps hardware like the G15 keyboard, it may be possible (in fact, windower has a feature for extended custom macros). Those are solutions for a PC user, but as far as PS2/360 users, you either have to find a workaround, or remain SOL.

Windower can do this. The G15 can only use it's own macros, so it won't help you much with FFXI (G15 macros are nearly useless with FFXI unless you use them with windower)

If you're lazy, you could just tape down your alt key and use all your macros on that key, but that would making typing hard...
