Sorry just want to put here, I didn't directly say that NA players are mainly on the KillingIfrit forums. Just, well I think, everyone who been there knows what I mean.

this whole topic is getting retarded, look, I don't know about you all, but when I log in, I don't see JP or NA or EU or F or G, I see what you are supost to be seeing. I see Mithra, Hume Galka Taru and Elvaan. This is a role playing game, not a daycare. Also if I want to talk in a PT, I will.

It takes at most a minute or so to write a decent search comment for whatever it is you're looking for. No one's forcing anyone to use it, but some people really should. Especially if you're some jack ass BST who's leveling in an area while /anon (I HATE this > _ >)

QFT. Nothing worse than a party where there is nothing in the logs but the occasional Party notification of a Convert or Provoke or Utsusemi. Those turn into massive doze fests for me.

Too much talking is as bad as too little, and I'm more apt to drop a silent party than one that's too chatty. I can handle too chatty, too silent and I get ADD.

Also: Nationality means nothing to me. I've played with good players and shit players from everywhere.

Edit: And the lack of RP/mocking of those who try to also annoys me. We really needed RP servers for those of us who care about more than the grind to the top. Hell, I'm importing LotR:O just because the US didn't get RP servers (apparently they think we're not good enough for it), but the EU did. So there goes my happy ass and my $15 going straight to the EU company running it, and not Turbine.

RP is fun. :3

While I do think that the use of search comments - especially at higher levels - is very useful, I think that the biggest problem with the damn things is that people don't even bother to read them when they're inviting you.

For example:

That happens to me often, as well. I'll put that comment up w/ the 'Other' indicator, because like I said earlier, I hate being on /anon, but I really don't party much anymore. I solo or duo with my b/f.

But there's been quite a few times where despite that being in my comment, I get /tells anyway... to which I sometimes make vaguely snarky replies.

I hate having to type my search comments everytime I log on,
while we are on about the comments could you guys and gals answer a Q for me?

if I have a search comment do I have to have my flag up for it to be seen?

I was farming near the dunes as a whm and put my comment up as

"Raise, do you need it?, send tell, invite to join party, No thanks, i'm sorry"

And I kept getting grief for having flag up even though I'd stated i wasn't interested

I know its a Nooby question but this game blows for instructions. the leaflet i got with the pc version of the game was well lame all it told me was emotes and movement keys.

I usually reply to those individuals with {/seacom} {Please check it.}. Otherwise, I'll just ignore them. I'm not obligated to take the time to reply to someone who doesn't do me the courtesy of reading my search comment.

Let's all quit "bitching" and play the game exactly the way you want to? Besides, the problem is worthless and useless dumb talking and/or spamming in a pt chat, that flood the log. That's extremely annoying, as a lot of jobs have to keep eyes on the chatlog a lot. Simple talking is something else, you understand? Some players tend to not understand the difference between that. And it's quite unethical to call it that people are bitching. They're expressing their discomforts about the game. This is exactly what I said in a post about "that kind" of players, when you humbly try to express your opinion, it's being put away as "bitching."

Whether it's a RPG or not, people play different styles. Just like the real society, and the only way to make it work, is when people can express their opinions(in an appropriate way) about things that bother them. That's also a reason for a forum like this' existence.

You don't need Search Comments, that's all your choice, don't use them if you don't want. But it's unethical to come in here and be like: "Look, this is my way, the way it is..." Please think before you post, you just insulted almost everyone on this thread. If you want to insult people, and using that method to try to "force" your opinion, there are better forums for that purpose.

Search Comments are for a real reason, whether people use them or not can hardly be changed. We can't tell every player to use their comments. So, I do see a point in Kailea's post, that this is starting get a bit useless. We express our opinions on it, and people that read it can read it, think about it, agree with some of them, laugh at some of them or not read it. In my opinion too, this topic is as good as closed, unless there are some new things to add it. But, to end a conversation, it takes all conversators.

As a Whm I hate it when you get all the crap from peoples macros in there,
if it dont help the party i dont wanna know if they choose you pikachu/carbuncle!
unfortunately I've seen that.

It may not take much effort to ask a player their TNL and wait for a response... if you're still in the process of forming the party while in town.

When I have to leave a party, I usually offer to hunt down a replacement for myself. In some parties, there's so much going on that it's hard to exchange /tells in the middle of action, especially if I'm the puller or the tank. I'd much rather have that information available from the search comment.

Not sure what you got out of my post..... but I use comments all the time, they help me get PTs as my DRG.
