Hello! I was looking for tips on farming as a 45 WHM. Particularily what/where/at what level would be awesome. Please share your farming knowledge with me, I'm horrible at making money and I don't even have THF leveled. Many thanks to anyone who replies!

I'd reallly suggest leveling THF. I think it will really pay off. My BLM is 46, but even having my THF at 19, even if you only got it to 15, really helps. By the time I hit 60 with my BLM I'd like to have my THF at 30.

As for farming, my favorites have been the crawlers (silk thread) and bees (beehive chips/honey) in East Saruta, rams (horns/skins) and sheep (skin) in the Highlands, dhalmels (hides/femurs) in Tharongi, and scorpions (claws/shells) in the Maze.

Of course, I craft while I farm so I can stack and carry more. My bonecraft is level 52, so when a scorpion claw drops I synth scorpion arrowheads, which I then send off to a woodworking buddy to make me some scorpion arrows which sell well. I'm also working on leathercrafting now, mainly for synthing dhalmel skins into leathers on the fly, those always seem to sell well also. Synthing a stack of sheep leathers also net me about 8k on my server.

Whatever you farm, try and pick mobs that you can kill in three attacks or less. Being a WHM, you'll probably hard pressed to find things that are that weak. Chances are, you have a wand that you've picked for using in exp because it gives +MND and +INT. If that's the case, you should probably invest in a higher damage, higher DPS club, like a mace or a hammer. You don't have to get the most expensive +1 for your level. Just grab one that's fairly cheap but has a pretty high base damage.

If you find that farming is still too slow and inefficient, I would recommend giving HELM (Harvesting / Excavation / Logging / Mining) a try.
