I just started playing FFOnline again and got a new copy of the game for the PC i was also thinking about getting it for the XBox 360 as well since i have a 61inch TV that does 1080p i though hells bells it would look sweet. I was wondering can i use the same account or are the Xbox players and the PC accounts different in any way? also what are the pros and cons of FFOnline using the 360 vs PC?

Re: Playing FFOnline with PC and XBox360
You can use the same account for both PC, xBox360, and PS2. (You'd have to get software for each platform, but just one set of codes.)
xBox360: Probably lesser chance of bugs. I still have "popping" problem on one of my PC playing FFXI which I couldn't get rid of--I just live with it.
PC: You get a more flexibility, and can have 10 sets of macros for each job if you want, by moving .mcr files around. Handy for those who level multiple jobs and have elaborate macro setups.
Otherwise, the game plays about the same on either, I'd think.Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,
yet not a mote of dust is stirred;
Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
leaving no trace in the water.

Technically ifrit, on PC, you can have as many macros as you want, depending on how you organize them. But that requires logging in and out and a lot of setup 95% of people don't need.

You can use the same account on XBox and PC though, just not at the same time. FFXI is cheap for the 360 so you could always pick it up abd try it out. If you have a 61" TV I'm guessing you're not strapped for cash.

Just a small clifactaion (sp) here.
Both versions of the xbox 360 can support 1080p. Though, using 1080p though RGB (componate) is very rare, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say that about 90% of tv's do NOT support it though that connection.
The main (and primary) ways to get 1080p are DVI and HDMI. So, unless you have a n Elite, chances are, you won't be running at 1080p.
Also, I'd have to disagree with them being better on the PC. It all depends on your PC. For my friend, who has a really crappy PC, they are better on the 360, because his computer is trash. But for me, someone who can afford to run the background reg edits, the game looks better on the PC for me.
Also, if you check the back of the box for FFXI on the 360:
[HDTV 720p][Online Multiplayer 2-10000+] (LOL!)-Baka Inu!
Nejiko - Mithra Current: [ 70 THF / 35 NIN ]
Basic Jobs: [ 70 THF / 20 MNK / 11 WHM / 18 BLM / 22WAR / 05 RDM]
Advance Jobs: [ 04 BST / 37 NIN / 02 SMN / 05RNG / 07 SAM / 07 PLD / 00 DRK / 31 BRD / 00 DRG]
Aht Jobs: [07 COR / 00 BLU / 00 PUP]

Re: Playing FFOnline with PC and XBox360
It all depends on how fast your PC is.
You need a fast processor to get the most out of FFXI. the 360 version looks nice on an HDTV but there is very little customization you can do, meaning the graphics and effects are stuck on "high".
This makes for very nice visuals, but will also be laggy in crowded situations (auction houses, more than 1 party in your area) which cannot be adjusted. Also switching macro pallettes can be slow and choppy as well, and opening the map does have a short lag, which is very annoying compared to the speed of PC macros.

Re: Playing FFOnline with PC and XBox360
Why don't you just hook up your computer to your tv...the card is much less than the xbox if you don't already have one.

The PC does have 2 GB of RAM, so when the areas get really crowded, the PC version doesn't slow down at all, while the 360 will have a drop in fram rate (although nothing so low as to make it unplayable). Other than that, I really enjoy playing on a console.
Between the two, I am finding myself more "comfortable" playing on the 360
The game will look great in 1080i on your HDTV. Not only that, you can get achievements for FFXI
