Does anyone else miss the old days as much as I do?

So I joined around December 03 and stopped playing around 05, and came back every once and awhile but never stayed for a long time. I think the thing that's missing is just the starting towns are dead. Hardly anyone there, no spamming. I miss the spamming. It actually felt like other people were playing. Now everyone is dead and quiet if anyone at all is even present. Since no one is there, it's really hard starting out. I get items 10 times faster than I can sell them, there's no one around to buy them! Bastok markets never gets more than like 80 (that's being generous, it's probably more like 50 something) people, I hate it. This threads pointless, just felt like saying something. I wish there would be a new influx of noobs or something... to repopulate the starter towns and bring some life back into the low end of the game.

The problem really comes from the fact Whitegate is the center of the community now. It's very easy to get to towns/Jeuno from Whitegate, but not vice versa.

Including the old days on here, with my horrendus writing. uck, how could I have written so poorly? Then again, that was almost 5 years ago, and I was a freshman in college.

The problem really comes from the fact Whitegate is the center of the community now. It's very easy to get to towns/Jeuno from Whitegate, but not vice versa.

Unless you set your homepoint in Whitegate, which is why almost everyone does, and that in turn pushes the community there even more than it would be otherwise.

Olduum ring isn't quite convenient enough for people to be comfortable making it their main source of transport to the Empire, especially when high level exp is still so unbalanced in favor of the Empire so if you're 60+ you're probably going to be spending a majority of your time there anyway.

Honestly, I'm not sure how (or even if) SE's going to fix that one - they don't want to make an expansion that nobody wants to play in, but one as overwhelmingly super-rewarding as TAU weakens the whole rest of the game. New content should be balanced with old content, not create this kind of mass exodus from the Middle Lands.

Maybe Wings of the Goddess will reverse the trend. We'll have to wait and see, I guess.
