    Re: Sea Gorgets

I did get to play with my Thunder Gorget a bit more the other night, this time in a merit party. It for sure doesn't seem to do much for the actual damage of Vorpal Blade, but the consistency against VT mobs(Greater Colibri in this instance) is now noticeably better. I previously would only do 400+ consistently with Souleater up(b/c of the acc boost), and 100-400 when it wasn't, but completely random. I was consistently hitting for 300-400 with the Gorget and no Souleater this time. I beat AN last night, so I'll have a Hollow Earring to toy with as soon as I get home tonight. Now I just need 11 more Sword merits, and my DD RDM plans will be nearly complete! MWAHAHAHA!

I was farming on the south ones, North ones feel less practical since they resist my sleep bolts half the time.

EDIT: Just decided I'd handle these differently. I noticed unlike other melee or magic damage, hmpedes don't shut thier mouths if you just keep using ranged attacks, so I can just keep thier mouths open indefinately with sleep bolts.

Gorgets are best for single hit weaponskills,

+0.1FTP is noticeable yes. this is going to equate to 5-10% more damage usually. (.1/fTP)

accuracy boost is better than PCC for single hits, the breakeven point if nagamaki's tests are correct should be around 3hits.

you can select a single element of a tier 2 effect to get the effect of that element, so Breeze Gorget will work for Savage Blade too, as well as for slugwinder.
