Will s.e ever make more types of races?

Well 2 questions,
1.Will s.e add more races in to ff?
2. I know a dragoons baby dragons are cute, but it gets old, will s.e ever make the poor baby dragon grow up and let it be a true dragon or atleast make it look like it aged at lvl 75 or something?

1. I HIGHLY doubt it. Without some major "Oh, by the way..."s in an expansion, there's really no races in Vana'diel as it stands right now that would be candidates for another player race. The closest would be the "rogue" goblins of Jeuno, and I don't see that happening (Bomb Toss as a racial ability anyone?).

2. No. PS2 limitations. Err...bad packets. Wait...wut? (It's been asked a billion times before. I don't see it happening, sadly.)

How about add more charactersitics to choose from when creatting a character, that sounds like a good i dea.

I'm with Legal, but I'll be a nice guy & actually respond...

On the topic of more character customization, armor customization, wyvern changes, or having different colored goldfish in your Mog House...

SE has repeatedly said that it won't happen, plain and simple. They say the PS2 is already pushing its limits, and being able to change what shade of brown the mole on your Galka's left asscheek would send it into the grave (then again, I'd gouge my eyes out...). Having to render one suit of armor in customizable colors is a fair load on a system. Now imagine the HOW MANY different armors in FFXI in different colors...even some PCs would be crying.

Ill be a nice guy too and say that there are more questions that are more "retarded" than mine yet people dont complain, and as for pushing it, i dont think s.e has pushed anything, i garantee you that the ps2 and pc and any other system that plays this game can handle alot more, and please, if you read this and dont like my q just ignore it and move on, dont waste my time putting insults.

I don't think they could add more races, not due to technical reasons, but storyline. Through out Zilart and CoP the origins of the races by the gods are revealed, and to add more would require working around the history of vanadiel up to this point.

I would like maybe customizable pets like varying colors of wyverns or something, but as far player races, I don't think they could add more.

Edit: It would also be unfair to players who have 5+ years into their characters to add more races with varying stats that would work better for thier class.

SE said they're considering adding in male mithra, but they haven't decided if they'll be NPCs or playable, assuming they even make it in at all (and they should ;

The PS2 is being stretched already, according to SE. That's why our Mog Houses don't get any more expansions. They've used the same answer for a few other 'customization/expansion' questions, though I'm having trouble recalling them right now (gimme a break, I'm at work).

And the reason for the negative reaction to the question isn't so much the question itself, it's the fact that it gets asked at least once or twice a day across the various FFXI forums.

Why do we need new races though?

Super caster race? Check. Well, half a race...damn midgets.
Ultra beefy stupid race that's built like a brick shithouse? Well, again...half a race. Asexual bastards.
Rogueish/dextrous race? ...I'm noticing a trend with the half a race thing. Dear god SE, just give us ONE male Mithra. Just to prove they exist.
Uh...I'm not sure why Elvaan are there. I've never heard of a prerequisite for the race that resembles a giraffe & has silly french names.
And the all-rounders, the Hume.

Adding in new races doesn't make sense to me. By adding a new race, they ask you to start the game from scratch AND pay an additional $1 a month.

Tons of MMOs release extra races after they're released. Hell, i'll risk being wrong and say most.
