you can go to the playonline website and order a copy for your PC (yes you can play on ps2 but i doubt he has the hdd if he didnt know about it.)

Male Mithra are at least plausible since they already do exist. The problem is their numbers are very few, but SE could easily change that with a new expansion and proclaiming some kind of "Baby Boom" akin to what happened in the 60's/70's in the USA.

Bow-chicka-wow-wow! And actually, I'm sure the males would want to finally be able to go out. Sure, being sheltered (and possibly waited on) for the sake of preserving your race is all fine and dandy, but deep down I'm sure they crave something new and exciting to do.


The whole Mithra cheiftainess thing is likely due to the shortage of males so the females need "Field Commanders" outside their home nation. Either that, or SE really, really screwed up a fundamental aspect of Lion Society (which is what Mithra are) which is that it's Patriarchal, not Matriarchal!

SE needs to bone up on their wildlife knowledge. The females pretty much do most (if not all) of the work in lion society while the males eat, screw, and on occasion hunt/defend. So it's not entirely impossible for Male Mithra to venture out in the world, they just need a bigger population first.

male mithra wont happen you will have tons of ppl like myself, i wanted to play mithra type but wasnt gonna be harassed by guys wanting to bang my character all day ( tho i could have been alot richer).

If SE was limited by what happens in the real world, this game would suck. Just because [insert anything here] does something, does not mean that something fictional that looks vaguely similar must or should do the same thing.

... as for pushing it, i dont think s.e has pushed anything, i garantee you that the ps2 and pc and any other system that plays this game can handle alot more

Maybe a PC can handle more, but how can you gaurantee that the PS2 can handle more?

The fact that the PS2 may be already pushed to it's limit can be a valid reason they cannot add races and other customizations. Also being "pushed to the limit" does not mean EVERY aspect of the PS2 is being pushed to the limit.

My first guess would be that the amount of RAM on the PS2 is the one that is being maxed out. Adding more characters might make the required amount of memory beyond what the PS2 can provide. (was it 4 MB VRAM? 32 MB sys RAM?)

Eh, we don't need any more races anyways, to be honest...
It would be a nice addition, sure, but the races we have now
are balanced and cover the whole job spectre pretty well.

SE goes to insane lengths with just about everything they put in, especially mythological refrences/parodies. Mithra are already very clearly based on lions, with the difference that it's Matriarchal. While I've nothing against this in terms of sexual dominance (and really, I'd rather not get into that >- > suffice to say I'm all for equality! ^^b) I still think they should have male chiefs for the sake of accuracy.

And I admit that being able to play as male would be something of a slap in the face, as I'd have to take a long hard look at my elvaan and all the effort I've put into him... but I'd still be happy they did it.

I doubt I'd make a new character and start all over, but just having the option would be nice. If nothing else I'd have another reason to create a mule :3

Sage Sundi said in an interview SE is considering it. They just don't know how they want to implement them yet (if at all). They could be playable, NPCs, or never even exist. It's all up to SE at this point it seems, which is why we need to speak up!

Not that I have a problem with staring @ a female all day, but I do object to being hit on by other guys and well, it wouldn't really be a projection of my ego now would it? ^^b (For the record, no I am not into furries, though cat-girls do kick ass)
