  • The Reflect magic scroll

Ok so in the past FF games we've seen the magic Reflect cept for in FF11 well atleast i havn't seen it in game. So i was wondering if Se ever plans on releasing the spell of reflect in game?

Hoping it woul dbe either a Meritable spell or a NM dropable spell.

How it would work would be like:

It would only reflect magic from mobs of like level and 5 levels above and below the player. Reason for that would be to prevent an unbalancing for HNM fights and likwise. Also to prevent invincable effects from very low lvl mobs for farming uses...it won't reflect magic from lower lvl mobs.

example: lvl 65 player farming in Pal mines or Castle Orz if reflect is cast the mobs magic will cause dmg (min dmg at that) or be resisted like normally would.

sounds pretty good still prolly needs some more tweeking...

Not gonna happen. If you cast reflect on anyone, you won't be able to cure them. So... I can see how this is going:

    /whitemage casts reflect on tank
/tank gets hit for 400 points of damage
/whitemage casts cure III on tank

    REFLECT!

    /mob recovers 300 HP

I just don't see any point in it, unless you're just messing around against a lower level mob and like watching it kill itself.

Why would it be overpowering to reflect spells from low level mobs? That doesn't make much sense.

This would make you rely more on curative items as you do quite a bit in the console games. This in turn would make alchemists very happy.

There's no way to rely on curative items as it is now.

Also, they could just make it so it doesn't reflect cures. I don't think a Colibri mimics Cure IIIs tossed at it.

They don't. And Colibri's reflect doesn't nail every spell on them, (thank goodness), generally if your chain casting, more likely it won't reflect all, but most of the spells on it.

                Previous FF games, only thing i found reflect good for was to avoid spell casting dmg on me, while also casting on the mob so it has reflect so my cures don't bounce off onto it. Hehe, I miss the FFVIII line of spells and the junction system ;-;

                  - Cast Reflect on party, cast nuke on everyone, reflect it for 4x damage >.>b

Oh well. I can still see it having some uses, like in ballista or against BLM mobs/NMs. They could also make it function similar to blockaid, reflecting only spells that are cast by people outside of your party.

Would be overpowered. Link a bunch of T or higher worms and watch them nuke themselves to death.

Collibri's I think have Mimic and not Reflect.

If they have Reflect, then they wouldn't be casting anything... but they do.

It wouldn't last forever, and it doesn't have to reflect every spell that hits it. It would be less over powered then Utsusemi is.

You could add Death to the game if you wanted. Right now 500 people screamed "OMG OVERPOWERED!" at their computer. Make it have a insane MP cost, very high recast and unbelievably low success rate and suddenly its not so special. a little bit of thought gets around every cry of overpowered.

This is true, and they wouldn't be taking dmg. Also they have a 5 spell memory, meaning if you silence them and cast several spells, when silence wears off they will only cast the last 5 spells cast on them.

Players should not be able to use Reflect, no.

Maybe a Colibri Jug Pet or charmed(if it were to be made possible), with strict limitations, but on a player, it would be broken.

In past FF games, the game was turn-based. Complain about that one if you feel every FF should have the same things.

I think there should be a reflect spell, and i think it should only reflect the mobs attack not any of the spells a pt member cast on you, but i would sudgest it only be a spell that whm can cast on them self, since whm is so frail. And Legal, some past ff games have had 2 modes of play, turn base and real time( for the more hardcore players).
