  • What's the Deal with Wool Bracers

OK, not that I'm complaining, it's easy money for me, but can someone tell me why Wool Bracers sell for such a great profit, no plus ups or latents I see so what's the deal? Are they needed for a higher level quest I don't know about or just popular for novelty sake.. Thanks

i love this message it's so funny to see when we get a FFXIO newb, but please don't spam a URL if it doesn't work the first time what the chances it's work the second time, got to be really low

My guess is they sell well because they are worth a decent amount of guild points.

Well i wasnt spamming a URL the second time I tried spacing it out like W W W just to relay the message but it didnt work so excuse me SRJXO. Anyway all i was trying to say was the last sell on those was probably when gil was worth less. If thats the case something that rarely sells is not worth so much really.

Yeah I'd say because they're worth a nice chunck of guild points... >.> i dunno besides that or that since they're desynthable you can use the items over again to skill up on. it seems a lot of skill up craft items are pretty expensive...

Re: What's the Deal with Wool Bracers

I have went ahead and researched this item some. On the AH website it shows that they sell at a dead slow rate. The rate given on my server is 0.00 a day even though they do sell, but very seldomly.

They are worth ovre 3k guild points so they are seldomly worth buying for the a very lazy person trying for guild points. Though if you are getting guild points theres a very good chance that you can make the item yourself. If you fill up your AH slots with those its a bad idea obviously. Its also obviously a bad idea to buy them for points as they are so cheap to make.

Im just saying this is not a big break item, I hope I have been helpfull. I dont think there is any more to say about wool bracers.

Plus, some of the sales may be to Clothcrafters who need it to pass the guild rank test at level 50.

Wool bracers are lvl 46 synth but i know your point. Recently i needed silver mail for gs points while i was over 5 points under to make them. What I did was go to a gs guild guy that gives +3 lvls with advanced support then I made them. One break but still cheaper to make it myself. With wool bracers costing about 7k to make but selling for 23k in AH but non even there anyway. I think people will just make them, and maybe some extras for the next time the guild asks for them.

Roger, I wanted to test sell rate so I made a few and slapped them out with 25K min sold one in less than a few hours, on a Tuesday night/Wed morning, probably a testing issue, but just thought it was odd that the plus on ingredients to final item was so much higher than comparable items in the same basic synth area.

Testing item is probably the reason for this, just wanted to make sure there wasn't something special about these that I had overlooked.

I think the slow sell rate (at least on my server ) is more an issue of them not being placed for sale.

Thanks for the responses and information though.

or perhaps they are an item used for subligar quest in bastok? those usually run pretty high on normal, no stat items.

If I happened to have all the ingredients on me and I needed the Wool Bracers for passing the test, then I might make them myself. But if I had to get a hold of the ingredients, especially the Saruta Cotton, I'd try and get the Wool Bracers instead.

It's really irritating to buy exactly the right amount of all the ingredients only to bust the synth, especially if I had to use a mule or two to gather the ingredients from other cities in the first place.

I remember needing a pair of Battle Boots one time to pass a Leathercrafting rank test. I ended up HQing it, and the guild does not accept HQ versions of test items (grrrrr). I think I turned a little profit when it (to my great surprise) sold on the AH. But having to gather the ingredients over again was annoying. And I hate wasting Tier 0 HQ luck on an item that only fetches a small profit like that.

That was what I thought at first too. It's been a while since I did that quest, so I'd forgotten that Brygid asks for a Body piece and a Leg piece, not a Hand piece.
