You should contact Paypal and see what help they can provide. $3,000 stolen from your account should be brought up to real police imo.

Agreed, basically what my 1st & 2nd post is trying to say.

Basically though, what it seems he isn't trying to see if we can find the real person. He seems to want us to slander Daison on the Carbuncle server (Which is about all that we can do on FFXI). Very tempting to create a character on Carbuncle just to see what Daison says.

Yeah I knew it would happen. My habit of typing is to type the name of the site put a dot and add com and not type the www part. I didn't even think about it when I typed it.

Also the ffxiah website doesn't show that character having done any buying/selling on carbuncle. So more than likely the person that used his paypal account (if it happened) probably had it sent to a mule.

Yeah, would be the somewhat smart thing to do. That way he can't be pushed around about it, though if Daison hasn't made any purchases at all it does add more suspicion to it.

First, thanks for reading. Second, some WoW player got a hold of my paypal account and spent over $3200 on gold coins in WoW and like 10 million gil in FFXI. Unfortunately, I don't play these games, that is why I need your help. I know I am not supposed to post urls here but check the vid, then come back. Search digg or break for kause.
This guy has to pay. While paypal, my bank, and the police figure this out, I don't think this guy should enjoy one second either games. I respect what you guys do on these forums and I have a lot of friends who enjoy these games. I have posted this on other sites and have since realized that getting this guy banned/jailed is probably more rewarding than anything else. So if you guys know of anyone who can help, who I can contact, or any other sites maybe that I should post to let me know.

All I have to say is..... your fault for not keeping your stuff secure. and yeah the video seems a bit bogus, sorry not believing this one. Pay pal has fraud protection, and use the Police for this not us, we wont do your dirty work buddy.

I had my identity stolen, I kept all my info safe. How did it get stolen, A lap top from citizens bank, was left in the air port over 4k identies stolen, due to someone else not paying attention.

I got to say I have posted this on numerous WoW and FFXI boards and you guys seem to be the least trusting.

Yes the one FFXI charge I actually show on tape had been refunded before I could print it out (2-3 days). You can see I have a 10-12 page packet of paypal receipts I am flipping through to get to that one. If you look at the one WoW receipt closely you will see there is not enough boxes to be a refund.

Why would I bother to register and post this story if I didn't think I could use your help?? Obviously, I don't play this games and I thought killing someone's character was A) a lot easier to do and B) would be a big deal.

Since making the video I have realized that fact (killing not worth it) and have been pursuing more legal action. More specific in-game evidence/history of this transaction. that is why I need the phone numbers/departments to call for each game. If i can't get through I will give the police the name and number of the person I spoke with.

I also discovered that since the total is over $500 it is grand larceny not petty larceny. The difference in jail time is petty has a max of just under a year while grand has a minimum of one year. That is per transaction and total, so there are 3 transactions over 500 that means at worst he would be getting 3 years. (a few law students have emailed me).

I am waiting for the detective to contact me. I thought you guys might be able to help point me in the right direction and help me with what to say to the game's call centers. If you guys don't believe or don't care about my story, sorry I wasted your time.

You had money (supposedly) taken from you and your first action is to register on webboards and ask if people who have nothing to do with the game(s) officially to do something stupid and you wonder why people don't trust you?

I checked the WoW armory for Kause. The character is level 56, so it's not a mule. If this is true, he's spending it on another character, because Kause has nothing special for gear. I found nothing on the purchased character mentioned in the video named "Yamdiddle," so he got the name wrong, or that is the account name.

The amount of gold purchased was 500. 500 gold isn't all that much, it won't even get you an epic mount, that's more like 600 gold. Epic Flying mounts are upwards of 2000 gold. Granted, 500 gold will get you some good items, but only a few.

I don't know, this may be legit or it may be a scam to get us to kill/ruin the rep of someone he doesn't like. Either way, there isn't anything we can do in FFXI.

EDIT: I don't see where the $3200 comes from. I see $85-ish on WoW gold and $320 on FFXI gil. You can't tell me that a crappy level 60 Warlock is going to cost $2795.

Not trusting? Perhaps. But we prefer to think of ourselves as "scrutinizing", "analytical", "critical thinking" and "discriminating" (not in the sense of prejudicial).

We like to think for ourselves. Those who don't, and simply take people at their own word and do as they are asked could be labelled as "trusting". Or perhaps as "gullible", "naive" and "rash".

What your basically asking us to do is harrass the guy ing ame etc. hich is against the TOS and could lend us in the shit.

You say Paypal and the police aare investigating it. that alone is a positive for you and we can't do anything, leave it for them to sort out. If you get people to harrass the guy try causing him problems, your not helping yourself, as you are just becoming as bad as him/it whatever) If it goes to court to get your money back, you harrassing or encouraging people to harrass him wont go down well with a judge. Leave it to the relevant authorities and sit tight, and I wish you luck in getting your money back.

Yeah it sucks, but none of us can make a difference.

Edit:- Square enix can't do anything as unless you have the credit card and address registered with the account/content ID in question they will not give you any information on the account/player etc. Only Paypal who have paid out your money can do anything about the transaction.

if it is proven that you have willingly given your account details away or have accepted a file or virus that has allowed someone to pilfer it off you Paypal can pull out and say they are not responsible as it is your doing that the information has been passed on. companies like that are very good at making themselves scarse, the fact tehy are helping you and the polcie is a good sign.

My paypal account was once compramised aswell to buy tickets to a concert or something. The amount was 500 dollars that was taken out. What happened was I was a fooled by a fishing e-mail. Anyway long story short I told the bank, they saw I wanst lying and reimbursed me my money immedietly and it became thier problem. I had to fill out a police report at the cop shop too. You should do just that, first contact your bank and tell them your bank account if is compromised by hackers via paypal and everything will be fine. Being that you are truthfull ofcourse.

If you really want to know why, go head to alla or ki and read all the people who pop up thier omg "OMG I got hacked" "OMG i got my identity stolen". 95% someone sold thier account/gave thier id out/just lies.

Well I did say I was fooled, yes i know i know. Its was a dumb mistake no need to rub it in com'on. Anyway I know you are just doing your part and commenting, but it was a really good phishing e-mail and I am more weary because of it.

I have a mule in the game named Hardway cuz I ussually end up learning that way. I am not mister smarty smartkinson, thats someone else. Im just hard learned.
