Watch that CS in lufaise again, and you'll see why we may yet get Phoenix. And WTF are you talking about in regards to Odin/DR? There's irrefutable proof that it's him. As to whether or not we'll gain him as a summon, that remains to be seen. Though SE promised us new summons with this expansion so who knows.

In order to make it sync up without significant changes to the storyline, summoning Phoenix would require someone to be past all of CoP. For some reason, despite their masochistic tendencies, I don't see SE doing that.

I meant that it doesn't mesh having him as a summon unless they make him smaller.

There could also be more to the Phoenix story since...well from the spoilers I have that Avatar's power was split into pieces. You already have to do CoP 3-5 for diablos...why not abit more?

Maybe after Phoenix is killed protecting you from Barahmut you could go try to get him as an avatar.....

Anyway I was just speculating....but Diablos tought me that nothing is totally beyond the relm of posibility.(people used to say that you'd never be able to get Diablos XD)

they said new summons? must have missed that but im not seeing alexader or odin for the reason of the story line. Alexander is a weapon!!! He is like a gigantic puppet created by the dead emperor. Alexander sheer size = not gonna happen the undersea ruins = alexander which connects and is bigger then any area ig so we can put alexander on the no side. Ok on to odin, Odin does seem to have qualties of an avatar but the fact he can only be around by inhabiting someones body, he isnt going to happen with him needing to take someones body it seems very unlikely he will become summonable until there is a 360 on the story and they basically say ya we lied about all that stuff in the first 33 mission. They could write a part in to make him but i dont seeing it fit into the story. Phoenix is possible because it was said to have infulence in the Far East but i doubt it could effect the near east as well.

I may be wrong..

but I figured Sel'theus' wings were a result of Phoenix's power merging with the crystal and thus 'transferring' to him so to speak.

Like I said, having Phoenix be a summon is plausible, but story-wise you'd have to be on at least chapter 7 to access it, which seems an unlikely restriction to me.

Not at all. Most people have gotten past COP and Zilart by now too, save for the newer players, and it'll act as further encouragement for people to get it done.

You need to have beaten COP and Zilart to get to apocalypse nigh, so why not have beaten COP for Phoenix?


And yes, it does suck that we likely won't get the celestial avatars of Light and Dark. We *could* still get Odin, but there's no way we'll get Alexander, he's too huge and destructive.

For crying out loud, he's powered by the 5 astral candesances! Reviving him would mean ripping out the Astral Plinths from Alzhabi and the beastmen strongholds and returning them to their sockets in the Alzadaal ruins. Very, very unlikely (unless SE actually plans to put an end to Besieged by the end of ToAU, which they might. I remember reading somewhere that Alzahbi will be deemed "Safe" by the empress by the end and that's also when the collisseum opens)

What I've never figured out is why the name of Alexander applies to a giant death-ray producing machine. Always seemed kind of weird.

I think saying most have sea access is extremely generous, I know countless people that have done every other bit of endgame and haven't finished the initial promys. Some couldnt even hack it at CoPs and had to loan out their accounts for a win, which is really pathetic. Sea events seem to have only become more common in the last five or six months, on titan at least.

I'm thinking Odin is very likely based on what I've seen so far in ToAs.

Keep in mind that Avatars ARE NOT that summon, but are a PROJECTION of that summon.

The actual being resides in their respective Cloister, inside a massive crystal. Even when you fight them, you are only fighting a projection of themselves, although instead of a player summoning them, THEY are summoning themselves.

It would be very possible for Alex to become a summonable avatar in this sense, although I'm not sure how a machine would be able to be projected... except possibly as a replica *coughpuppetcough*

So stretching this far as I can see it (still on black coffin and three paths), to be able to control Alexander, I guess it would be the ultimate relic automation that is to come from a time consuming and pain staking process but will in the end, make "lolpup" into "zomgPUP get it!" >_>;; Odin, could be a new kind of avatar to summon maybe, like one that comes with arcana and dragon killers, being one, possess people an undead quailty and undead is opposite of arcane and being a demon (imp and kindred with him as dark rider), or I could have just stretched this completely outta wack. o.O

I still doubt that. He's *way* too huge, despite being a living machine weapon. Also, I just can't see how Altana would have given him god-status as she did with Shiva and the other celestials. We've yet to find the protocrystal of light too (We know where the Darkness crystal, or rather what's left of it is)

I COULD see Odin being made usable via some kind of quest involving a fight with Luzaf while he's still possessed by Odin. The end result could be that he takes you for his new host, thus giving us some kind of loophole to summon him.
