Maat fight question.

I've tried looking just about everywhere I can think of, and I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. A friend of mine in my LS said that you do not lose experience points if you are defeated by Maat, and I was wondering if this is true. My husband has been wondering if this is true because he does not have the XP buffer from leveling down but would still like to try to fight Maat.

I know it's still a better idea to just get the buffer, and he will if that's what it takes, but just out of curiosity, is my friend right, that there's no xp loss, or is she full of crap?

I think not losing exp from Maat was a recent patch change. Lemme look it up ...

The change I was thinking of only applied to CoP battlefields. You should still lose exp normally from dying to Maat.

You don't loose EXP if you're fighting Maat on your first job i.e. actually doing the 75 cap quest. If you fight Maat on other jobs (going for Maat's Cap) then you will loose exp.

What Mhurron said, first time beating Maat you don't lose any xp.

But if you fight him afterwards you'll have to suffer the consecuences of trying to steal the old man's cap.
