Hey all the interface is wierd lol anyway is there a way for me to change the sceen reesolution to higher and how do I use A S W D keys to move instead of num keys. Also is ther a way to use skills or cast spells instead of using mouse bring up action and using it take hella long. Thanks.

I don't know if you've checked it out, but they have a new player guide on www.playonline.com
I haven't looked at it, so I don't know how much of your questions it answers.
For changing resolution size, shut down playonline/FFXI and open the FFXI config, found in the start menu. The resolution is how big or small everything is, the background is how good everything looks.
Use arrow keys (or a controller) to navigate through menus.
Menu (2) -> Config -> Misc. 2 -> "Keyboard Type: Compact" That will let you use the WASD keys for movement. (I personally prefer using numpad on this game though, since the mouse has no use.)
You can cast by either typing out the spell name and target (/ma "Cure" Antmf) or by using macros. The macros use the same syntax, and I'm pretty sure playonline's new player guide would go over how to make macros.Generic Info!

Stop trying to use your mouse to play FFXI. You're just crippling yourself. Learn to use the control setup this game has for the keyboard, or buy a controller. You'll save yourself a lot of heartache.
Directional controls are on your manual, even if you only got the little 2-3 page version.

Highly recommend using a PS2 style controller. The same goes for reading the manual. ^_^;
