Hey i decided to come back to Final fantasy 11 from a year and half break. I was wondering if any servers are reccomended for getting back into the game and finding a solid LS to help you get back into the groove. I have already snooped around and found that not much has changed except for the difficulty level due to the loss of MB's supposedly? correct my if im wrong please but it seems like the subtraction of this area of the game would gimp the casters job. No more timed bursts would mean mindless spamming would it not? Again correct me if im wrong i do not want this to be seen as a flame of any sort, i am just curious and i am eager to get back into this great game.

Re: Coming back
Magic Bursting is still used throughout the game. The only BLM change was they limited the effectiveness of elemental magic during prolonged fights. It really hasn't seemed to effect things much. At endgame, a lot of merit parties run around in tp burns with no BLMs, but there are manaburn parties if need be.

Re: Coming back
Want to use SC+MB's while exp'ing? Try forming a static party, or at least try to get in a JP pickup group. I've seen SC+MB in maybe three or four parties from Lv.55 to Lv.68 on my Red Mage, whose perma group broke up a while back.
On my Paladin, my static group has been using SC+MB since Lv.10... Lv.57 now, and still doing the SC+MB thing. YMMV.
ToAU introduced bunch of easy to kill (and easy to reach) exp monsters with short repop time; Lv.55+ exp'ing is much faster now, according to old timers.Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,

Re: Coming back
All of the cool people are on Fenrir. Except for the cool people who are on Bahamut, and Seraph, and Kujata, and Midgardsormr.
Everyone else sucks though. It's an unfortunate truth about FFXI.

Re: Coming back
yeah, everyone should just come to one of the five, ditch your old servers, despite the many 75s you may have =p /sarcasm
I enjoy midy a lot, have a bunch of friends on there & half the time other people arent that bad either.
Yay, Ty for this Eohmer~

And there was no loss of MB, it's still possible, just uncommon since most PTs are "TP spam", which basically means they just WS as they please. It became popular in lv75 parties, and trickled down to the point where you even see it at lv50ish. It's not a huge issue really

What works at 75 doesn't necessarily work at 35, but we all know that I might as well spit into the wind right now as that will be just as productive.

Re: Coming back
All the cool people being on Fenrir does not mean all people on Fenrir are cool.
Most of the people that aren't cool bought their accounts from someone who was kinda cool.

Re: Coming back
In W. Ron? Wow, how sad...
Yeah, I'm only so blessed that I'm fortunate enough to reside on Kujata. Definately one of the better servers from what I hear these days.
Also one of the few to be able to resist repeated attempts by Midgarsormr to overtake. Really, what's up with that? Kinda funny that the other servers mentioned are also able to resist them as well...

Incidentally, I miss the ability to have custom titles.
