I'm all good apparrently. I was able to log on and get out of the airship dock also I went back to Sauromouge Ch. (sp) and had no ffxi-4001 error. I did the update hooked up directly to my modem (cable hi-speed) and then did my zone testing from behind my router. I did encounter 1 R0 error in Carpenters Bay however I was able to zone back into S.Sandy without getting kicked.

That said I'm wondering if I encountered this issue, not saying anyone else has but it's a possibillity.

During the update I was dropped around 3x before getting it installed. I'm thinking it is possible that the repeated drops could have caused some data corruption which caused some areas to not-work properly. Therefore a re-install and re-update should correct any problems, which it apparrently has in my case. (I chose the minor re-install, the one that leaves your macros intact.) Also this could explain why SE sees no problems at thier end.

If anyone with more technical savvy and further background information could either verify this as a possibillty or de-bunk it as, well...bunk. Please do so before we see everyone start re-installng, it would be greatly appreciated.

GM Petition Service Update (Mar. 14)

We have experienced GM petition service technical difficulties since Mar. 10, 2007 at 20:00 (PST). These issues were caused by a surge in call volume. We are happy to announce the heavy volume has now been mitigated.

Well, when I switched the MAC in my router, I no longer DCed in the first 2 zones I had trouble with. La Theine became "the zone" after though. I haven't tried going there late. Maybe I will after this Besieged I'm waiting for.

Well, starting from very early this morning EU time people were reporting the problems were stopping, both on BG and Alla I noticed that people were resolving the issues - so might be worth checking.

ha so i d/c in lwr delfrts, selbina, southern sandy, ru'luude gardens (jeuno), and the burning circle in giddeus. i have dsl and ps2. I really hope this is solved soon. my ls has got rank four mission soon and I would hate to miss it.

Damn it, mine is still broken. Why the hell do I always get the shittiest end of the stick? Everybody else's stuff is fixed and mine's still crap. Not fair.

Thanks Jethreal for the info.

I think yesterday's small update corrected the problem with not able to pass "Aquiring server info" step of connection and D/C areas.

I could go to D/C areas with no problem and my friend could go pass "Aquiring server info" step of connection and play ffxi.

ok, I just got a Teleport-Holla, and I didn't DC in La Thiene. I guess now I'm good with all zones.

I was able to play in the zones Kazham, Yuhtunga and Yhoator last night. Didn't try any other zones, but could this mean that the problem is gone for now? (I mean all gone)
