    Re: Disconnecting zones...

It's so random ... I'm amazed at how many different zones are affected. I mean, it was no shocker to me that Whitegate was causing me to disconnect, considering the fact that I have horrible lag there to begin with, but you would think it would be in only a few areas, yet some areas that are fine to some are disconnecting others. Very strange issue.

          Re: Disconnecting zones...

Hm, let's add Yuhtunga to the list. Since I couldn't log on in Port Jeuno I got my RL friend to log on my character and fly to Kazham with it. Then I logged on again, talked a bit in the LS, then tried to zone to Yuhtunga. But of course, there I got R:0 again. Bollocks.

              Re: Disconnecting zones...

My "dead zones" are to this point: the gardens in Jueno(can't remember the spelling) and S. San'dora. Upto this point I've gotten lucky as I can just avoid those zones. I'm wondering, How do u change the MAC? Is that resetting the modem? As I said eariler I can just avoid my "dead zones" for now, but if SE is not going to do anything to fix it(which I have this feeling that they will say it's us and not them) I am going to have to do something to fix it
u have to know when to hold them, know when to fold them

                Re: Disconnecting zones...

Any of you who can zone once and the game is fine for you are lucky. So far, every single zone I've entered has d/c'ed me. I quit. I'm getting fed up.

This shit better be fixed, and SOON, or I'm going to have to find a better way to spend my money. Now I love FFXI ... I REALLY love FFXI, but what the hell am I paying for? Frustration? I think what S/E needs to do is just revert to the way the game was BEFORE the update because that's when all the problems started. And then, before they put the update back up, they need to comb through it and take a look at what may have been causing the problem, and then take care of it. They've already told us it's not their servers. I understand that. But that doesn't mean that it's not some sort of data content that's corrupted or w/e. (I'm not that tech savvy so forgive me!)

I'm tired. I'm bitchy. I've been fighting with teachers, kids, and husband all damn day and all I fucking wanted to do was log in and knock around Vana'diel for a little while today. FFXI is my main source of stress relief these days and when I don't get it, I get crabby. I miss my character. I miss my game. I'm at the end of my rope here ... PLEASE, someone fix it! I've tried everything I can possibly think of and more and NOTHING has worked. I wish there was some way I could just uninstall the update and play w/o it.

I've really reached the last known boundaries of my patience. I understand a day, I can maybe deal with two. But four damn days now and not a single solution in sight? This isn't fair. I am paying money for a service that I am not getting. And what's worse, people all around me ARE getting it, and it makes me want to pull my damn hair out.

I want my game back. Please.

                  Re: Disconnecting zones...

Well I'm firmly stuck in Port Sandy between the airship and the exit. Since no npcs show up and my inventory doesn't load I can't exit, warp or get back on the ship. Re-installed ffxi and now I'm trying to get the some 11800 updates to load.

My RL friend's D/C zone happened to be the airship. He wasn't able to zone out from the airship so he wasn't able to play FFXI. He then let me try log in with my PC (Which is located in different place. My PC is at my house and his PC is at his house). Then this airship wasn't D/C zone for me. I waited until airship arrives, I logged off, and he logged on, and everything was ok. It just sucks that he can't even use airship until this problem is solved. When there was a little update last night, I thought it was to correct this issue, but it wasn't. Port Sandoria was still a D/C zone for me...
But please let us know if re-installing FFXI fixes the problem.

                            Simply... change your MAC address.
Now I'm wondering WHY that fixes the issue, and why so many people were affected.
please explain! i would very much like a fix so i can party in dunes agian, but i don't know what a MAC address is, or how i can change it. i'm playing FFXI on a PC.

Well it's not a cure-all ... it didn't work for my husband and I, so all I can say is not to hold your breath. :/

heh, right after i posted here, i found another thread about this fix/jerryrig in another thread - http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/gen...ue-solved.html

i still don't really know what it's all about, but at least it's something some people can try until SE actually acknowledges this whole thing as a problem they can fix for people.
