Well, I'll help you out a bit...

Myself... Southern San 'Oria and Ru'lude Gardens.
Linkshell member... Southern San d'Oria.
Japanese linkshell member... Port Jeuno.
Linkshell member... Lower Jeuno.
Linkshell member... Tahrongi Canyon.

I was just told an LS member was in a PT with someone who couldn't go into Upper Jeuno.


I think I heard Bastok Mines too, though I can't clarify that one.
You think we should start a new thread for people disconnecting to post which zones in particular?

Oh yeah, this might help too... A day or 2 after the update, there was an emergency maintenance on the zones housing the Choco Racing. The weird thing was, the System message itself looked very screwy... mispellings and words out of place.

Two party members I had yesterday had SERIOUS trouble making it to bibiki bay. One kepted d/cing and lag moving every 5 secs after loging on o.o

That post just screams "Chocobo dat screwed up" to me. Only thing that doesn't make sense is Ru'Lude- but you can go to the chocobo racing circuit now right? Did they add a chocobo there?

As soon as I get there from Whitegate, I make a dash for the Upper Jeuno zone. I still DC, but atleast I'll come back in Upper Jeuno, heh.

Nah, A friend of mine couldn't zone into the safehold from sealions den. Another one kept DCing in the lobby as we were going into Limbus

First, for anyone still having connection issues, I highly recommend this thread at allakhazam:

The only two zones that cause me to go R0 (that I've noticed so far) are Konschtat Highlands and Ru'Lude Gardens. My main character was trapped for most of the day yesterday until I found the guide at the above link. What fixed the problem for me was unplugging my router and plugging my modem directly into my computer. I was then able to log on into Konschtat, warp to Whitegate, then log out and switch back to my router. I'm not very knowledgeable about the subject, but apparently there's some conflict between the IP address I'm assigned when my router is plugged in and the servers for those two zones. *shrug*

That still doesn't explain why a HUGE number of people are DCing, even people in Japan.

What about the Euros... I haven't heard anything about Europe DCing.

Well, it seems to be working. I tried it and I'm ALIVE in Ru'Lude. I just zoned in from Upper Jeuno and I'm ok.

Although I'd rather test it by warping here from Whitegate, that's when I always DC.

I must say, I'm on Fenrir, and I've not had any of the problems that others are. I am getting a tiny bit of lag when I /sea or check my LS list, but besides that, nothing. I've also not heard of any major problems from my friends, or other LS mates.

Sorry, wish I could be of more help. I do like to give SE the benefit of the doubt, in that it isn't specifically a problem of theirs. I do know, last summer, there was a major issue with Comcast's internet access and FFXI. I just would think that SE would be honest if it was a major problem on their front.

And I zoned into both zones I would DC at... and I haven't.

I suppose simply changing your MAC address works.

But why?
