Nope..I can login and play FFXI just fine..I seriously do think it's a backbone connection issue, this happened years ago (which almost all you obviously forgotten about).

So far, I've heard people disconnecting in any of the Jeuno zones, and the zones that have that new Chocobo Racing house thingie, i.e. Southern San d'Oria, Bastok Mines, and Windurst Woods.

Have you tried zoning into those areas?

Disconnects?? Can't even get in. On Day 3 of being unable to log into the characters. Very frustrating. Playing on PS2 - can play other games without troubles.
Was able to logon got update even got in and played!

Now when trying to logon get almost there - to "aquiring player data" then get Protocol error FFXI-3113

Anyone else with issues like this?

I'm having this problem for 3 days also.
My friend is having exactly the same problem.

Same thing for me. Times out on "Aquiring Player Data". Cmon square, fix your problem. We pay for this damn game.

=/ To those people who are having problem logging in: Have you tried asking (very reliable) friends (who are not having problems themselves) to login for you from their machines?

If they can log in and zone around without problem, then at least you can isolate the problem to your end--if they can't, then the problem is most likely located on the server side.

While that seems like a good idea in theory, I'm not one to give out my information to absoultely anyone. The only person I would allow to do that is my husband, but he's here so that's a non-issue. We're both having issues.

Done that already. My GF tried logging in to a mutual friend's account, and she also DCed each time she logged on.

I still find it hard to believe that it's on OUR end when SO many people, even in Japan, DC in various zones.

Can anyone actually get in the game at this state? Seems people were able to log in yesterday (then get booted), but today it just times out at the Aquiring Player Data msg. Anyone?

Most of the population CAN get online and IS online.
There are several that can not.
Those who CAN get disconnected in certain zones.

like me... i can get online now and play, but when changing areas... i R0
