Re: Signet Test: Duo and Trio in the Tree

Is there any way to have a "control group" in this kind of thing? Reason I ask is that I myself am kinda curious as to what these changes in exp and the eva and def bonuses boil down to in practical usage; something like "I gained x more exp over y time fighting z mobs". I was supposed to be duoing BST's tonight, so I would have seen for myself, but my static BST partner has other obligations, so I guess I'll just have to wait til next time we go out.

I'm kinda bummed...I'm itching to see how much of a difference this makes, especially the exp bonus to smaller parties thing...I have solo'd and duo'd all my active jobs to around 16 in La Thiene previously, mainly because I try to keep my time in the Dunes to a minimum...too many deaths out there ^^. I'm currently in a static trio, lvl 10 WHM (me), BRD, and WAR. We're gonna play next tuesday, so if this hasn't already been exhaustively documented by then, I'll post my results...

Hypothetical question...you think we're gonna see a lot of 4-mans and 5-mans running around now? I was talking to some peeps in my LS, and they insist that the standard 6-man party is still going to be the more popular setup, but with the exp bonuses I have a feeling there's gonna more parties with less people in a lot of areas. Not that I'm bitching or anything, just curious about the effects of this on party formation going forward.

My 75 WHM friend damn near shit himself with the "no TP loss while resting thing". He's like, "ZOMG, finally you asshole DD's can start resting back your own HP between pulls!!!!!11" He get's a little excited sometimes ^^

I have to agree with your LS members. The six man party is still likely to be the standard. It just works too well to give up. A bit of bonus exp isn't (for me) enough of a reason to sacrifice one entire other person. If anything, that bonus exp is just a way of compensating for the loss of that individual (or individuals) that would help the group of 6 to get more exp than a group of four or five.

Until I actually see proof otherwise, this doesn't mean 6 people parties are gonna get replaced. 55+ TAoU areas will still dominate, Sanction buffs are still better than Signet ones. This just gives soloing jobs and people LFG other options for xping. And plus it makes leveling lower level jobs MUCH easier now.
