  • Mushusshu and scorpion claws

I've been told that the Mushusshu in the Crawler's Nest always drop 2 scorpion claws no matter what, I'm wanting to finish off my Alchemy by synthing Venom Powder, so this is of great interest to me, I was wondering this was true and if there were any other scorpions that were of a lower level that also always dropped at least one scorpion claw.

I've not heard of a regular mob having such a drop rate as "always." Scorpions of any level, though are pretty giving individuals. If you wanna try kill speed, try out the bottom of Shakrami Maze. There's some crawlers and stuff down there too that nobody touches if you wanna add variety to your day.

I used to farm the maze, but it seemed that drop rates were a tad low even with thf subbed.

That and I almost always ran into farming groups of bonecrafters for scorpion arrowheads and crawler farmers, either the maze is totally empty or it is totally swarming

The only other place I can think of that has a good quantity of huntable scorpions in an out of the way place is Ranguemont Pass. Otherwise, you're competing with others and slow pops in altep.

There are only 3 scorpion spawn in the Pass. 2 Cave and 1 giant.

Vyuru I would suggest sticking with the nest. You can kill some in the big room near SA and go deeper and kill a few.

I know it may not sound fun, but have you tried LoO?

That's my thought, I know where a bunch of Mushushu spawn, and they should be low enough level now that Death Scissors won't one shot me, although I don't know if I could handle a link, or if they link, I need to check on that.

I know it may not sound fun, but have you tried LoO?
No I haven't, at lvl 67 I went in there with some friends to camp Ose (got him and wiped due to bad luck/lag :/ ) and most of the mobs there conned EP-DC, with the Toramas conning even matchs-tough I think, so I don't think I could farm there without getting aggro.

And yeah I call the kitties Toramas because I can't remember how to spell cuerl and they've always been Toramas to me

Mushusshu and Crawler Hunters in CN do drop two claws and a shell everytime. Also I'm pretty sure the tier one scorpions in CN drop atleast one claw each time. You might wanna try camping the zone to the pond that the great bird nm spawns at, sorry can't remember the name off of the top of my head , since there are three Mushusshu right there and you can always zone if you need to.

I always said it like "CO-url." Which, for a Texan, probably sounds about like anybody else saying "coral."

Wait dammit. Reverse that. When I say "coral" it sounds like somebody else saying "CO-url."

                          It's pronounced "Throatwarbler Mangrove."

As for the scorpions - the CN ones are very generous, I don't know if it's *always* two claws but claws are very common. Whenever I go there to farm I end up throwing claws away to hold more shells. (Of course if you can synth them into something stackable, that's even better.)

You don't have to go as far in as the Toramas to find scorps in Onzozo; there's plenty of scorps in some of the shallower parts. You might still get aggro from cockatrices and goblins though, so if you don't want to have to kill everything to get it out of your way, you might not want to go there.
