Since when does Taru = punt?

I know jokes involving the correlation can be pretty hilarious, but where did it even start?

Sometimes, it makes my head hurt, and I'm not even the one being puntaru'd!

I thought that it cam from them being the size and relative shape of an american football. But then again that is just the general line of thought I had when I first saw the term "puntaru".
