So after taking a year off of FFXI, I rejoin the game 4 days ago. I install the Windower a couple days ago so I can use guides in my web browser while playing the game. I dont even know how to .dat swap or anything, all I have is the windower. Last night around 9:00EST my game disconnects. I try to reconnect, it reconnects to POL then logs into the game. Game boots up, but then says "Disconnected" again. Then POL starts having trouble. Now when I try to log into POL it gives me a "Invalid Username and Password". Its been doing this since last night. Now its almost 12 hours later (9am) and im still getting that error. Is my account cancelled??? If so, is there a way to get it back?? Thats just ridiculous. Days after they announce their own Windower, they go around cancelling accounts with 3rd party windowers. I know I know, any use of 3rd party apps is prohibited. But its a DAMN WINDOWER. Gimme a break. Has anyone had this happen? What did you do?

by the looks of it no, you have not been kicked. call SE and see what is up. if you had been kicked for useing "windoer" you would get a pol mes that says call or something. unless you get that you are fine.
btw if you did get kicked i dont trust that you only used windower. i would never use it anyways. you are useing a 3rd pt app and even at that i say you should get kicked.
without windower gilsellers would have less power. ever see 5 of them dc at the same time? thats one person useing 5 windowers+ some app to play them all. -

You don't need windower to bot/cheat/whatever. Ever seen those images of the loads of screens? That is an rmt operation.
If you are getting no message other than password incorrect, ring SE, find out what is up. If you were banned/suspended you would get a very specific message.

Sounds to me like you might have downloaded an illicit program and been hacked. I would definately do a virus and adware scan.FFXIV Balmung Server

It does kind of sound that way - if you were kicked out, someone could have been logging in as you. Ring SE asap, you will need your credit card details (if you can prove the date it would have been changed etc, and the fact that your card was the one used previously), you will need your manual, as well as the usual random details. They can stop the account. If it does prove to be that, ring your card company and get them to not accept any requests for payment from SE unless you authorise.

no illicit program has been downloaded. I take extreme care of my computer and have lots of security. The only thing I had going was Windower and the only thing ive ever used over the 3 years Ive played FFXI was Windower for the last 2 days. I'm not saying that a hack isn't possible, but I think it's more likely related to the Registration Server Maintenance SE completed just yesterday.
There's always at least one person whose credit card info needs to be re-entered. Is your expiration info up to date? Debit cards seem to encounter more problems than regular credit cards.

Mine did that this month, but it gave me a "cancelled - do you want to reactivate" message, nor does it happen so far through the month - always 1st or 2nd.

Hmm. it might be my debit card. The old info they had didnt have the exp date up to date. my card expired in november but i got a new one. then i paid off my FFXI balance and reactivated my account just a few days ago. They charged my debit card and it went thru, yet i didnt update the exp date info. hmm, im assuming it has to do with that.Comment

From my experience, payment problems will not log you out from POL. It will only prevent you from entering FFXI saying content ID is invalid.
In your case it sounds like someone else log into your account from somewhere else and change your password.There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,

It would be sad if someone did take your account. (And, if so, very possibly through a malicious addition to the Windower.)
After the update today and after you've spoken to SE to make sure your account is ok and has up-to-date info on the debit card...try launching POL and FFXI without the Windower. Maybe it's something simple like the Windower isn't very stable on your system.

Well, it does sound like you were booted and some one changed your password.
If that is the case, and they got your account info through a keylogger via the windower, you got what was coming to you, imo.Comment

Yeah, where did you get your windower? If you got it from someplace other than archbell, there's a chance it could've been a keylogger.
And seriously, "Got what you deserve"? What the hell are you people talking about? First of all, last I tried (Which I admit was a while ago), windower has a LOT of problems dual boxing. Secondly, it would take a LOT of power for a single PC to run an entire party. It's FAR more likely they're using multiple PCs. Third, Hacking programs have been around FAR longer than windower. Windower might make it possible to access the GUI while ingame, but NO hacking program, and I can promise you this, NO hacking program was impossible before Windower, that is possible after it. Fourth, just because something CAN be used for evil doesn't make THAT THING evil. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Cars don't run over kids, incompetent drivers run over kids. Fifth, I could come up with more reasons why Windower is not malware, but since I have the feeling you're not reading this anyway, this sentence is half space filler.
And if it was a keylogger, be sure to call SE ASAP, the sooner you act the less of a chance they've changed your personal info.Comment
