  • Unfair Pulling Practices?

Unfair pulling practices was mentioned in the Battle System adjustments yesterday, but it wasn't touched upon at all. What could possibly be an "unfair pulling practice?"

Only thing I can really think of is the BRDs decked out in Haste gear spammng Horde and Foe Lullaby to hold mobs in merit camps. I can't think of much else. That or Sleepga spells, which aren't as common in merit camps. But I really just consider that greedy more than I'd say it was "unfair."

COR can pull and hold a mob in a similar fashion, but have no AoE version of Light Shot, so I can't say that's unfair or greedy. Its only one sleep a minute, 50 seconds with full merits.

RNG and THF can't really hold mobs as well with sleep bolts and due to the fact they'd focus on the main fight anyway any outside mob would go unclaimed. COR and BRD doen't technically have to engage a mob that's being fought, so the mob wouldn't go unclaimed.

So, what is an "unfair" pull? And what would be done to discourage such a practice? I kinda feel like there's some veiled nerf coming and that SE just doesn't want to say what it is.

I've never had an issue with a merit or exp pt holding a second mob with sleep or whatever. However, I've seen merit parties with 3 or 4 slept mobs and that seems a bit too much imo.

      Re: Unfair Pulling Practices?

The only thing that bugged me when I pulled on RNG would be when somebody would provoke/chi blast/dia/etc a monster I was shooting. Or when somebody with a gun is pulling and somebody else shoots it with a crossbow or pebbles (which fire faster).

I'd say having your entire party out trying to claim a monster to kill is "unfair", but really...if it's that bad then somebody needs to leave. (Although that's not always an option. I've had to deal with these kind of camps before, despite me saying that we should go somewhere else over and over.)

But if you're just talking about sleeping things... I've never seen a single party hold enough monsters that it really killed everybody's exp. I've seen quite a few parties wipe trying to though. Usually what kills exp is that you have 4 parties fighting in an area with 20 monsters.

In most merit parties I can have up to 4 mobs lined up to kill, and they die fast so the BRD barely has time to go get the next wave (we usually run around a little but stay focused in one smallish are most of the times).

Although these kind of parties are smart enough to go to places where we are the only ones killing so that's never been an issue.

Yeah, it's shady but I don't know if it really falls under 'unfair'. As le kitten de bbq indicated, I have a sense this may lead to something we won't like.

I don't have a guess at what unfair pulling practices they were referring to. However, the way it was worded gave me the impression that it was referring to an issue in the past that they feel they have already dealt with through a past update.

Maybe its referring to claim stealing? I've heard this is still sometimes an issue. Though I doubt that this is what its referring to, its just the optimistic side of me hoping it isnt another nerf.
