  • Any right?

This is probably going to be a rant so there's your warning. But I want to know out of this situation if this guy had any right to act the way he did, if so I will apoligise to him.

Ok so I was on Ninja, Lv/31 and looking for a party, I got bored of sitting in Jeuno so I thought I'd go to qufim and solo some crabs. After awhile of me being there a party arrived, so I started to take Giga leeches and worms and only crabs if I had to because that's what they were exping on. One of the people from the party kept /checking me, which is fair enough but in stupid amounts it does tend to get annoying but I ignored it, and carried on. Finally I get a pt invite and Im just healing up before I leave but the next thing I know is the guy from the qufim party is /telling me. Here is the delightful convo I had with him:

I ended up blacklisting after my last /tell to him and left to meet my party. Did he actually have any right to tell me to leave? There wasn't a time when I actually stole a mob they were planning to pull, infact every time I took a crab I could always see another scuttling about somewhere. If I could of handled mandys in yuhtunga I would of done but they rip through my shadows. So any opinions?

No he was just being an idiot. You actually tried your best to not inconvenience the PT by switching to Gigas yet he still kept being a moron. I wouldn't worry bout it to much.

I'm not sure if you have a Fellowship NPC or not, but with one you can take Mandies even without Utsu. They're pretty awesome to have while waiting for a party at lower levels.

The guy was a jerk, but it's Qufim, so I wouldn't expect much. Sometimes you have to show them how dark it can really get before offering them the light.

Well, he didn't really have to tell you to leave, as you're free to do anything else. You also DID fight other stuff to allow them to XP on crabs.

One thing I noticed though is that you didn't take the high road either. From what I noticed, you called him names first. You could have acted more better about it.

I did have a npc but the timer wasn't up so I couldn't use it. Yeah i didn't take the highroad and I guess I should of done and I know it's not excuse but the guy was annoying me by flooding me with /checks before he even began /telling me so I had little patience for him.

How do you know it wasn't a macro he had with "/em examines you."

But yeah, I can see you having little patience for that though, he was an ass by telling you to leave. He could have asked nicer.

True, even if it was an emote that he used that many times, he was purposefully being annoying to everyone in the area.

Neither of you are exactly a winner in this instance. You had every right to solo for exp there, but as Eohmer pointed out, you didn't start the conversation out very well (and it had nowhere to go but south after that).

Maybe not for his actions, but you can do so for calling him names. Up to you.

He didn't start the conversation at all, and the guy who did was hostile from the start (not even counting the /check spam... personally I have it filtered anyway, but I know some people are bothered by it).

I'd say you have every right to pull any unclaimed mob you want (except for those who are only unclaimed because of a bug, such as the bug that causes monsters to become unclaimed when a BST changes pets). The guy who's acting like he owns the zone is just being a jerk. "Smart ass" is pretty mild under the circumstances.

You forgot the "noob" comment. She called him that too.

Regardless of how the other guy started it, she had the option of taking the high road and didn't. She is just as much to blame for the direction the conversation went.

Well with regard to the OP calling the other player noob, that other player fits the bill

Taking the High road is fine and dandy, but you shouldn't be a door mat either. Once people think they can get away with doing something they'll keep doing it. Maybe now he'll (Godswarriror) will think twice before tell some one to move from his spot.

The OP was a lot nicer than I would have been after that comment at the end. I would have stayed and killed every mob I saw
                          /em wave hand across chest

/s This is not the sig you are looking for. . .

Taking the high road doesn't mean you're being a door mat. It means you realize that the complaint has no merit, and so you give it the attention it deserves. None.

Once you start sniping back and forth like that you lose any credibility.

Sure, the guy has the right to /check and send /tell's, as long as they don't fall under S-E's definition of harassment. You also have the right to use mobs in zone, but not to the limit of monopolizing any one (type of) monster.

Seems like both of you were within bounds.
