I'ld heard a rumor that the drop rate for Valkurm Emperor and Leaping Lizzie were being increased. Does anyone know anything about that and where the information is posted by SE if so? Thanks in advance.

Boy, rumors sure spin fast. It probably came from Exodus's post on Allakhazam:

Pikko added that going through such difficult battles only adds unneeded tension to end-game and more-so would cause a player to just downright quit. I don’t remember who mentioned this, but another example brought forth was something as simple as Leaping Lizzy. You have people who are literally 0/15 on that mob, and the item is Rare/EX. It was further discussed that the drop rates of non Rare/EX items should be changed, as that would affect the economy. Sage Sundi turned to me and assured me that this will be addressed and that I (we) should expect to hear from this soon.
Basically, they talked about drop adjustment from many situation with S-E, and S-E's PR person promised they'd look into it. (Yes, Leaping Lizzy was mentioned--and, no, nothing on specific adjustment has been decided, yet.)

They really should. The amount of time some people will spend camping these things becomes ridiculous enough that it'd be smarter to farm for gil and buy the non Rare/Ex versions, and it won't kill SE to basically give us two freebies.

That or make Monster Signa Rare/Ex. <_< >_>

Only if they make a new item, like "Monster Banner" the Rare/Ex equivalent of Monster Signa, and make Monster Signa a sellable drop from a BCNM.

          I could get behind that.

Not that it's an essential piece of gear by any stretch. Then again, neither are Leaping/Bounding Boots, Emperor/Empress Pin or Peacock Charm/Amulet.

It'd be really nice for them to fix this. =/ I'm holding back from leveling 2 jobs because I want my Empress Pin. I do know that it's not essential, but I feel that the stats on that pin would help my Ninja quite a bit, especially from 24-40, which is how far I'm taking it anyway. Being 0/10 on VE is quite annoying, and I just don't have faith to continually try without getting anything. D: I got lucky with LL and I was only 1/12 on her...I have a friend that was 1/35! >_<

              Re: nm drop rate

In the time it has taken you to camp and lose on VE, you could have raised enough gil to buy an Emp Pin from the AH.

Err I know that...but with that same money, I could also buy other gear for other jobs, and I suppose yea, it was a waste of time, but every time I go after him, I'm assuming that this time, I'll get it. And then, as time adds up, it kinda becomes a "This time, I have to get it." type of thing, or that's how I feel at least. :X

Plus I'm very against buying the hairpin when VE drops the Rare/Ex one right there, and I hate people who camp him when they already have one, which I would've done later anyway. Of course, if someone needs money, they'd want the Rare/Ex counterpart so they could sell the original.

I just want the Rare/Ex~ And I'll continue to camp him until I can get it, it's not like I'm in big rush to level those other jobs anway, lol.

Thanks to Roguewolf for the sig. :D

                  Re: nm drop rate

Yes, but if you didn't spend that time making the money to buy an Emp Pin, then you couldn't buy that other gear either. Meaning that you don't have the Emp Pin, and you don't have the other gear.

What's really frustrating is the 21+ hour repop NMs that only drop rare/ex items and don't have 100% drop rates. Stubborn Dredvodd, Noble Mold and Bo'Who Warmonger are some prime examples. Noble Mold can take days and weeks to pop and may not even drop anything.

                      Noble Mold.........

I've yet to see it even pop, let alone get the pleasure of killing it and not getting the drop. (Yay, accidental rhyme. ...It's Shantotto time?)

And frankly I wouldn't trust anything posted on a gilseller-owned website, even if it's by a person in their forums.
